Hey guys! New user here. Let's just say this is a first for everything! First post, first time playing a 4th gen pokemon game, and (drum roll please) FIRST SHINY!!!!!!!!!

I recently bought a DS Lite on Ebay and bought Pokemon Diamond. Last pokemon game I played on a handheld was Pokemon Silver. (i played ruby on the PC but wasn't the same). So I am a big fan of getting shinies. My friend traded me a blue ditto way back in the day.

Anyways, I heard this Pokeradar Strategy on how to get shinies. Well I tried and tried. My longest chain was 14 with a phanphy (did I spell it right?). Then I decided to give it another try. There was a swarm of smoochum and on the 45th chain, the patch of grass was glittering like crazy and it was a SHINY SMOOCHUM!!!!! YAY! I called her Glittery.

So I just want to hear from every one of you guys how your 1st shiny pokemon experience was like?
(not counting Red Gyarados)

PS. Should I keep on trying to get another shiny?

Well... My first ever shiny I could not remember, but the one I remember is an encounter with a golden Barboach lol but I didn't catch it. I'm not into shinies generally because the color is like a rainbow threw up. Some are good though like Umbreon which I got from a friend.

If you are into shinies then sure but 'hunting' them in patches of grass takes an enormous amount of time and effort. Most people RNG which I don't really get but it gives you easier shinies and a perfect IV spread which my friend did to my GEN5 team right now so RNG is like less effort, greater gain.
