    HeartGold Elite Four Help!

i just got to the elite four and my pokemon are (i believe) too weak to have a chance at all. Here they are, just if you wanna know.

    Name:Typhlosion
    Level:40
    HP:124
    Atk:77
    Def:69
    Sp.Atk:104
    Sp.Def:84
    Spd:113
Ability:Blaze- Powers up Fire-type moves in a pinch.
    Item:None (at the moment)
Moves:Blast Burn, Strength, sadly Cut, Lava Plume.
He's probably my best pokemon, no huge problems I'm aware of from him.

    Name:Dragonair
    Level:40
    HP:103
    Atk:77
    Def:73
    Sp.Atk:75
    Sp.Def:63
    Spd:70
Ability:Shed Skin- The Pokemon may heal its own status problems.
    Item:Chesto Berry
Moves:Dragon Rush, Draco Meteor, Surf, Waterfall.
it's annoying how none of his stats are above average. But otherwise, I think he's OK.

Name:Rocky (got him in an in-game trade, he's an onix, i hate his name)
    Level:40
    HP:92
    Atk:54
    Def:130
    Sp.Atk:38 (so annoyingly low)
    Sp.Def:47
    Spd:81
Ability:Sturdy- It is protected against 1-hit KO attacks.
    Item:Shell Bell
Moves:Rock Smash, DragonBreath, Rock Throw, Screech.
This Onix is really annoying me. It's defense is so low that it faints almost instantly. It's special attack is really low too, and it's best move is cruddy rock throw! I need help handling this one.

Name:Magnezone ( traded to pearl to evolve him)
    Level:40
    HP:116
    Atk:64
    Def:109
    Sp.Atk:113
    Sp.Def:83
    Spd:63
    Ability:Sturdy-same as onix
    Item:Magnet
Moves:Thunder Wave, Magnet Bomb, Spark, Discharge.
Just learned Discharge at lvl 40. Helps alot more.

    Name:Farfetch'd
    Level:39
    HP:101
    Atk:60
    Def:56
    Sp.Atk:56
    Sp.Def:64
    Spd:67
Ability:Inner Focus- The Pokemon is protected from flinching.
    Item:Silk Scarf
Moves:Air Slash, Night Slash, Fly, Swords Dance.
His stats are all below average. But his moves are OK to me.

    Name:Tangrowth
    Level:39
    HP:132
    Atk:103
    Def:110
    Sp.Atk:98
    Sp.Def:56
    Spd:44
Ability:Chlorophyll- Boosts the Pokemon's Speed in sunshine.
    Item:Miracle Seed
Moves:Mega Drain, Poison Powder, Ancient Power, Secret Power.
Tangrowth has gotten me out of many a scrape. His high defense and health has kept him alive throughout countless battles and kept our whole party alive against Claire. His defense gave me time to heal my party (and heal my party, and heal, and heal, and heal...) and beat her. Barely. I just wish I could get one more great move for him.

By the way, I did beat Will first without using a single item. Only my Typhlosion and Tangrowth survived. I just wanted to see how tough the Elites would be.

Any assistance at all? Any special ways to train without breaking the bank battling the elites over and over? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your Team is decent but if you wanna easily win against the elite 4

here is the team i would recommend

they should be in the 50's as well

Typlohsion (use against bit of koga and the vilopulme of the 4th elite
    Modest Nature
    Flamethrower,Focus Punch,Sunny Day,Solar Beam

*if u can get this pokemon*
Weavile (use on will and lance)
    Speed Nature
    Ice Punch,Dark Pulse,Sword Dance,whatever else u think would work

Alakazam or Gardevoir (Use on bruno)
    Spatk nature
use the moves they learn in lvling

Raichu or Ampharos (Use for lance's Gyrados and charizard

the 4 i would use against the elite 4 are those

Get rid of Onix and Farfetch'd. It's ok to have a Pokemon that knows Fly but I usually don't keep that Pokemon in my party unless I need to train and fly somewhere. At least evolve the Onix if you can. Get rid of Cut on Typhlosion and teach it something more useful like focus blast. Get yourself an Electric type Pokemon, train your Pokemon to the high 40's/ low 50's and you'll do fine.

I already have an electric pokemon, it's magnezone.

Also, I just got a metal coat. I'll evolve my onix as soon as I can get my brother to trade.

I am surprised that you don't have any water/ice types there, you see the elite four itself is easy but Lance is more hardcore than them, to win against him easily you must have a good ice STAB attack in one of your pokémons.
Oh and my red card in my siggy was my HG team when I beated Lance. XD

Agreed. Farfetch'd is pretty weak and I've always preferred a Pidgeot for a flying type in Kanto and Johto. If you're going to keep the Onix, I could trade it back and forth with you to help you evolve it.

    A Few tips:
*Remove strength and cut from Typhlosion and train him to level 42 so he can learn Flamethrower.
*Never teach a single Pokémon on your Team two or more HM moves. HM's like cut, strength, and waterfall are not needed everywhere in the game.
*Since you said the Onix is pretty weak, the Steelix it evolves into might be weak as well.
*Get a water-type Pokémon so you can remove Surf and Waterfall from Dragonair. Also, once he evolves, you could teach it fly which would really make that Farfetch'd useless.
