Note: I didn't know whether to put this in Nintendo Talk or the Other Systems board, so move it if you want. Also, this is NOT a flame post. I just thought that the similarities were surprising, and I wanted to show them.

Okay, so since the days when Ninja Bread Man and Anubis II roamed the earth, people have predicted a great catastrophe in the hardcore gaming realm because of the
Wii. But hey! It's only $250! How can you get a game system at a lower price?
Well, Sony made something better for a lower price. Three years ago, in fact. It's called the PSP (I guess the PS2 also falls into that category, but lets leave that out). Here are just a few advantages that I observed between the core
Wii Package (
Wii Sports included) and the Daxter Bundle on the PSP.
1. While the
Wii costs a whopping $250, the PSP costs only $200
2. Daxter, the PSP's pack-in game, contained universally higher scores than
Wii Sports.
3. The memory stick contained in the Daxter Bundle contains nearly TWICE space as the
Wii's flash memory (1GB compared to 512MB)
4. The graphics are often much better than on the
Wii. Observe the difference between the two Worms games.

5. On the PSP, the browser is built-in, while you have to pay for it on the
Wii.
6. The games normally cost 40% less on the PSP than on the
Wii
7. On the
Wii, $6 won't get you much more than a crappy Turbografx shooter. On PSN, though, you can get a great-looking PS1 game for that price.
8. Friend Codes. Nuff said.
9. The PSP is WAY better with homebrew than the
Wii.
10. Of course, the PSP is a handheld, so you can bring it wherever you want, while you have to leave the
Wii at home.
11. PS3 integration is WAY better than whatever the
DS does on the
Wii.
Okay, that's enough about the hardware. Onto the library. Now, often people will state that the
Wii is packed with "great games", but what they really mean is that "it has Brawl". Now, I wouldn't exactly call the refurbishing of the GCN game with half-baked online play to be new. But would I call things like Exit, Echochrome, and even things like Daxter and Secret Agent Clank innovative? Definitely!
Now, don't get me wrong. The
Wii is obviously an extraordinary party system, so if you often have friends over, it's probably gonna be worth the $250+ you'll be spending. Sometimes, though, you guys act like it's "every hardcore gamer's prized possession". If that's your criteria for a system, there's no denying it: The PSP is better in nearly EVERY way.
So, what do you guys think about this unique comparison?
Edit: Okay, maybe I didn't make my point clear that much.
It isn't really that the
Wii is BAD, but you guys just play two or three games for it. From No More Heroes to Zack and Wiki, you can find countless hits on the
Wii that you can sink your teeth into.
The PSP is MADE for switching between a ton of titles. It isn't quite as popular as the
Wii, so I decided to see the console war from a new angle. I'm sorry if it seemed like I was flaming.
