Disconnections; Does It Bother You? - 01-31-2008

I've noticed that disconnecting is a real problem in days of ruin/dark conflict. The fact that there is no win/loss record, perhaps encourages people to disconnect when losing, because they know that it will not go down in any sort of counting system.

Obviously some battles could also take HOURS on wi-fi, so people sometimes disconnect when bored ect, ect.

I just wondered what you all thought on this matter; obviously when someone disconnects, you get a win; and perhaps even rank up. But do you really want to rank up and face tougher opponents when you are not ready just because someone disconnected?

Personally, i'm not that bothered about it, especially if i'm winning, because I know I would have won disconnected or not. But I do find it annoying if i'm really enjoying the battle, like if they have one infantry unit left and i've blocked all their production buildings. :P

^Many thanks to Shido for these AIDS :2

i see what u mean.....it is quite annoying to myself. this is coming from a guy whos game types are anything but TBS. i get what you have to do in AWDOR but i still lack the enjoyment.........but if you spend alot of time fighting a guy and the battle is epic and can go either way it would •••• me off if he/she disconnected

It's more of a etiquette thing. If your opponent has to go somewhere or finds the battle boring, he or she should have just surrender in order to not waste anymore of your time since the battles do tend to take a long time (we're playing against other humans, not the computer AI). Other than connection problems, there really is no reaosn to disconnect intentionally except for ego. Maybe staff should create a disconnectors thread for Advance Wars

Disconnector really are a pain in the •••. When having a good battle and little winning, some people think that battle is lost and they disconnect. Even if the game started whew minutes ago. At least they could try something... But if sum1 would surround my last unit, block my factories, and just torture me by lengtening the battle, then I would probably disconnect. Also those noobs who use 2 minutes to move 3 units •••• me off.

It's Advance Wars.

Anyway, that tactic is a bit weak... You'd need to be a nub to fall for it in the first place and a complete noob to not be able to counterattack it.

There's no W/L record on WiFi? Then what's that W/L record I see on top of my Friends Roster? (I am yet to play on WiFi o.O)
