Personally here is my tactic in a nutshell. Don't rush the center... focus on building some missiles then fighters, do it in that order. once you have a decent sized army, go ahead and take the center, once you have control of th center, your mission will be a breeze, just keep their air units suppressed and build cheap ground units to keep them off of you. Also, once you have control of the sky, go ahead and build some bombers. If you want more detailed tactics, I will give some to you if this short tactic doesn't prove helpful.

Have you tried asking the game for help? You can look up tactics mid-battle. Sometimes you'll have to know how to win because there will be missions in which you have to win the way the game wants you to or you're not going to win at all and afters an hour you'll have to redo everything.
