Bell Making Guide - 11-20-08

Hey everyone, it's That guy with the Sombrero, the Animal Crossing Guru, The Diviner, the designer, Divine E here. I am here to help you make some bells. So let us begin.

For starters, let me give you a little hint. Do not use this money on nonsense when you first get it. You need to use it on your house payment. At least til you get to the second floor. You will really need the space, and you will see why later. Make sure you get a dresser too.

1. The first way to make money is to sell your fossils that are found in your town. On average around 3 buried things appear in your town everyday. These can be Fossils, pitfalls, or gyroids. Remember, you need to get Blathers to identify them first. DO NOT CLICK DONATE. (unless finishing your museum is a top priority.) After that , take the fossil to Tom Nook and sell it. You should get between 2000 to 5000 bells on average.

2. Fishing. One of the best ways to make money. Okay, first things first, you need a fishing rod. No, you can't be like me when I first starting play AC, and try to use a net, they don't work. You only need to invest 500 bells to get this nifty little tool. Or, you can wait til the fishing tourny and Tortimer will give you one for free. Now lets learn how to use it. First, you will need to equip it. Obviously. Then you will want to WALK! (DO NOT RUN! Scares the fishies.) Walk to the river or ocean. You will eventually see a shadow of a fish in the water. (Size varies.) Just use the action button/wave your wii-mote to cast. Cast right in front of the shadows mouth. The key from here is to make sure you are not too on edge. The Fish will play with your mind sometimes until it feels like every nibble brings you one step closer to having a heart attack. Remember to wait until that bobber goes under, then press that same action button/wave your wii-mote again. Make sure you don't wait til too late. You will real in a fish most of the time, just waiting to be sold. However, you will sometimes reel in a boot/tin can/tire. Just put these in the recycle bin, or give them to Nook. (Or send them to your friends online in a letter.) I would generally stick to ocean fishing as ocean fish are typically more valuable. (Just try to not get very many sea bass.) Then take your catch to Mr. Nook for your bells. The best part of fishing is that you have an unlimited supply!

3. Fruit. Fruit is a great thing isn't it? Yes, some of you may have tried to sell your fruit that was first in your town, and were probably sad to find out that it is worth only 100 bells. However, there is more money to fruit than meets the eye. A foriegn fruit is worth 500 bells. That really adds up. It's like having 1,500 bells growing on each tree. How do you get these fruits? Well, there are two ways. One way is to beg people on FC for the fruit. This seems pretty easy, but please don't start sending me PM's asking for my oranges okay? Another way is to send your native fruit to a neighbor in a letter who will normally send another foriegn fruit back. This way you can get all the fruit you want. Now about growing it. First you need to invest 500 bells to Tom Nook to get a shovel. Then, I personally recommend investing another 400 to get an Axe. Here is what you do. Go up to one of your other trees, and chop it down. Then use your shovel to dig up the stump. Then go to your menu, and click on the fruit you want to grow, and click bury. It will immediately become a sapling. Now why would I want you to cut down a tree? This is to ensure that the fruit will grow. This is only for the first of every tree. Don't be afraid to cut down your native fruits too. Remember that foriegn fruit trees are the money making trees. Considering you can have around 200 trees in your town, you could make roughly 300,000 bells a day. (Assuming you have around 3 hours to pick them all.) There are a few places a tree will never grow though. It will never grow beside another object. All of the space around the tree has to be free. That is why you never see a tree growing right against the cliffs, or right beside each other. They can also not grow in sand. Other than that, trees can grow anywhere. With the exception of Coconut trees. Coconut trees can only grow in the space right above the sand. Sand has to be either in front of it, to the left of it, or to the right of it.

4. Misc. Ways. Basically some other decent ways to get money are out there. These don't ussually give you much, but hey, it's bells.

Seashells - Sell okay, but take a while to replinish.

Old Furniture - Depending on the furniture, you could get a good ammount.

Mushrooming - Gather the mushrooms and Mush Furniture, and you could make a bit of money on this.

Favors - Do stuff for your animals and they will give you money, or other things worth money.

gyroids - Dig em up and sell em.

Recycling bin - grab stuff from here and sell it.

Bugs - Not a great form of income. Sells these for a bit of money.

Lost and Found - Not very good stuff, but you can sell.

Presents on balloons - Shoot em down and sell em.

Flea Market - Sell stuff in your house during the flea market.

Bell Rocks - When hit with a shovel, a random rock everyday will start throwing up bells. There is a time limit to this though. Try to dig holes stratigically so you wont move backwards far enough to prevent shovel contact.

5. Intrest. Put money in the bank and you will earn interest. With a lot of money you could make an extra 999,000 bells a month.

6. Money Trees. Sound like a big money maker? Well, it really isn't. Let us start out with the basics. First, you will need to get two shovels. Bury one, and wait around 24 hours, but not before the 24 hours are up. Dig up the old shovel, it should now be golden. Now dig a hole with your golden shovel, and bury some bells. This will then form a tree. Let it grow. The most money a tree can grow is 30,000 bells per bag, 90,000 per tree. So don't be burying more than 50,000. Also, the amount you bury, minus the zeros at the end is the chance you have of that tree growing bells. bury 1,000? 1 percent chance. 50,000? 50 percent chance. A bit of a risk, but the reward is pretty good. Don't expect to get the money every time though.

7. Turnips. This is the big one. This will give you all the money you need. The hen that lays the golden egg. Every Sunday morning an old pig named Joan will sell you her turnips. She sells two types, Red and white. I would stay away from red if I were you. Not really worth the effort. You have to water it daily, then sell it for around 10,000 bells. You pay 1,000. You can only get one every sunday. White will be your main money. I suggest not buying turnips from Joan if she is asking for over 130 bells. There is a chance you could lose some money on that. Basically, buy as many turnips as possible, and store them in your house. This is why I said to have plenty of storage space. You take these back to Nook later on in the week, and try to sell them for more. Always ask Nook his turnip price before selling. Try to sell for a profit. Also, very important, DO NOT TIME TRAVEL AT ALL!!! If you do, your turnips die. Finally, if you do not get the price you want on wendesday, sell them thursday. You do not want to risk all of your money by waiting til saturday. This will eventually get you quite a bit of money.

8. Online. When online, you can sell stuff to your friends. However, you can also make money another way online. When your turnip price is high in your town, (500 and above is considered high.) make a thread or hub telling people about this. Then charge an entrace fee to get in. The fee is up to you. You could charge 100,000 or only 75,000. It's your choice. But remember, if someone has 600 per turnip, and only charging 75,000, and you have 500 per turnip, and charging 100,000, who do you think they will go to?

This has been my money making guide, I hope you enjoyed it! - Divine E. Karma appreciated.
