Everyone is treating this as a big deal but IDK they think what we're doing is wrong and we're just doing what we want to our games. It's ruining the fun for others if we're doing it to them but if we're doing it to ourselves then it's our fun not theirs.

We can Time Travel in this game and if you don't like us doing it complain to the creator and tell him he should fix this for the next game *sheesh*
Do you REALLY expect Nintendo to care? They get your money one way or another.

Please tell me where, in any of my posts that I made in this thread, that I said something about a stupid statement.

In an earlier post, I quoted:

And in that quoted post, I said:

Here's the fact that I was trying to get out of your quote:

Ignore the "but with crappy controls". If I would have just quoted half of a sentence, it would have looked sorta stupid. So I quoted the whole sentence. I didn't give you bad karma for anything. I even pointed out in my earlier post...

I even partially agreed to you. I wasn't saying the Wiimote isn't crappy--it is. That's why I use a nunchuk. :)

I'd have to say time traveling is okay unless you are using it to go to all the events and festivals. I can understand TT'ing 1 day forward and then back again for house and store upgrades, or even going to a different season for different bugs and fish. Some may just not want to wait 6 months to catch an arapaima or something other than the fall/winter fish. I don't believe people should time travel just to get rare items and flood the market with them though. But it's their choice, and it doesnt affect me one way or another. It's not my town.

To some of you, I hear you say that time traveling is cheating. Well to tell you guys, Time Traveling is what some of us choose to do. It's not really cheating. What I consider cheating is that we get items that are not obtainable in the game. If we just want to time travel we can do it. It's our game that we can play our way.

If you people think that time travel in Animal Crossing City Folk is cheating your wrong. There is no way of possibly cheating in AC:CF. It's our game, our rules, and our decisions. I just wanted to get this though to everyone
to you, time traveling is not cheating... to the people that feel like you are defeating the purpose of the game by traveling around time whenever you want to get a house upgrade or a store upgrade or WHATEVER it is you want to do, it IS cheating

i thought the whole point of animal crossing was to play it like it was real life... and last time i checked i couldn't just speed through time to make a package come in the mail earlier, or i couldn't speed through time to make the renovations on our living room be done any faster... also i cant rewind time and go hang out on Halloween

one of the slogans for the game is that "it's the game that plays even when you dont!"

i think time traveling is more like cheating than getting an item that is not obtainable by any normal means (all i am doing with he item is putting it in my house for decoration)

when you time travel you affect your entire town, when you get a hacked item youonly affect yourself

ok my pizza is done cooking, so i am going to stop arguing... (i could go on for hours... [or in this case... paragraphs] but i am hungry... and i'm gonna go eat mah pizzah!)

this is not a direct attack at anyone FYI

Well... I haven't seen anyone on the forums turn down a mortgage payment from a time-traveler. And those of you that say time-traveling ruins the games purpose... Does anyone really care about the purpose anymore? If you haven't noticed, there are two 'prequels'.

I have a time traveled in both Animal Crossings. One reason I time traveled is so I could get upgrades such as stores, houses, and town upgrades. I also did it so I could get a shirt for Gracie Grace because it is ony available in the summer. I don't really count it cheating. I understand why someone would though because they might think that it ruins the game.

Animal Crossing is a casual game and not competitive; so I believe something as little as Time Traveling is a minor issue. Nobody's stopping you from doing it too.

Re: Don't call people cheaters if they Time Travel. - 12-02-08

But it is cheating. You are doing something that you're not supposed to do to gain something for yourself.

I really don't care if someone times travels or not but it doesn't matter how you feel about it, it's still cheating.

Nintendo made it possible to change the date to better suit a person's schedule or preference. For example, I would rather the season be opposite of the actual season so it'd be more interesting or I work late into the evening and when I get home, everything is closed so maybe I'll change the time so night will be day and day be night.

I think it's kinda cool when it's winter and I visit someone's town and it's summer, it becomes a breath of fresh air. But time travelers don't do it for this kind of enjoyment, they do it to obtain items or bells that would have otherwise never been gained until a later date. That is cheating.

Re: Don't call people cheaters if they Time Travel. - 12-02-08

ok... i can see this is NEVER going to end...
personallyi think time traveling is not cheating ( im not saying that its a good thing) i have to gamecube AC and i time traveled HEAPS and i found that it stuffed my game experience up and i got so many weeds i spent 4 HOURS getting them out.

i understand that you may want to get a cretin item in advance to show off ect.
or if you want to upgrade your home or nook's or get a bridge blah blah blah.

now i kno that is really tedious waiting to get a item or for the next event but that what this game was based on REAL LIFE... with animals lol if that was your life could you just change the clock and get what you want when you want? no thats being self-ish... i mean do it if you want cos i really don't give. its a way to play the game and im not complaining, just stating my opinion.

that my friends is my view of this "cheat"
