Alot of you guys wonder, "Why do seeders seed people?" Every seeder has thier own reasons or opinions.
Some seeders do it for fun, and enjoy it when people get angry. Some seeders get a "high" when they are close to trouble. Some seeders seed for revenge. Some seeders do it for a reason we aren't sure for.
But, you weren't here to chitchat, right? You came here to learn something! :D
What is "Action Replay DS"?
A game cartridge used to alter a game experience. Action Replay (or AR for short) "hacks" the game and changes it to whatever you want it to do, to some extent.
For example, if you used AR for Nintendogs, you could have every dog breed, unlimited cash, any house you wanted, ect...
Or for Animal Crossing, you could make instant-fruit trees, multiple houses, multiple stores, gates, builitin boards (SP?) and more.
What is a "Seed"?
It could be anything. With Action Replay, (people buy them either online or at various gaming stores like Game Crazy or Game Stop) a seed is kind of like a slang term for unnaturally hacked/aquired items such as house "seeds", gate "seeds", Nookington "seeds", or less harmful seeds like flower or tree "seeds".
Monkey-Proofing Your Town
Think like a Seeder
If hackers are actually intending to ruin your town, and forcing you to start over, they will most likely either target your house or your gate.
If they put a house or building seed in front of your gate, you will not be able to enter, as it is fully blocking the way. By your gate being blocked, you will not be able to travel or invite anyone to your town, claim lost-and-found items, change your flag, or ask if there were any recent visitors.
If they put a building seed in front of your house, you will not be able to play the game at all and absolutely forced to reset your town, or you can just quit the game forever and cry in a corner :(
Another trick that would be good to do is
surround your town gate with patterns. To drop a seed, hackers need an open space (at least one or two squares) to drop a seed. If you see them removing a pattern, walk in and out of your gate a couple times, just to make sure he/she isn't doing any funny business and then replace the pattern if it's all clear.
Pay Attention to Who is Entering Your Town
I
do not recommend adding newbies that are under four days old. These, in most common cases, are
actually banned seeders that have come back with a new account. If they are at least one or two weeks old, then there's a chance that could just be a normal player who is now experianced enough to know proper town etiquette.
Before you
add anyone to your roster, ask them if they hack. If they say yes,
don't automagically treat them badly or assume they are going to seed you. Some people just have AR to make thier town nicer and have more personality. Good hackers can also
de-seed towns, which means if someone dropped a non-fatal seed, they can help you remove it.
If you add someone who you don't know hacks or not, just keep a close eye on where they are going.
How to Know if They Hack or Not
Hackers (good or bad) usually wear pricey items like
crowns, royal crowns, rainbow feathers, ect.
Big Red Flags, Catching them Red Handed
If someone comes to your town and they randomly say a 4-digit code (like "0011" is a code for Coconut trees) that's a big red flag telling you that they are totally hacking. Kindly ask them not to hack in your town, and if they persist, just turn off the power and remove them from your roster.
I don't care if they're a good or bad hacker, if a visitor does not respect you or your rules of your town then they don't deserve to be there.
If someone comes in your town and after a short amount of time (less than 5 minutes) and says "I want to save.",
COME ON! Are you kidding me!? They are obviously trying to seed you.
If they ask to save
quickly walk in and out of a building and check to see if there is a building blocking your Town Gate or your House. If there is nothing, ask them why they want to save. If they want to save for a minor reason, (for example, "I bought something from your store.") it's better just not to save, just to be safe. If they want to save for a more important matter, (for example, "I just got my hair cut.") that would be a good reason to save. But
remember to inspect your town THUROUGHLY (sp?) before you save.
I'm getting pooped from all the typing and information blowing my mind, so I'm going to take a break. I hope this guide helped you so far! I will add more soon. :D
