Now, this is the most heartfelt thing I'm probably ever going to post on FC, so please, bear with me.
Now, recently, even though my social life is doing VERY well, there's been some things that I really can't stand which have been occurring. I'm a Muslim, it's very common knowledge to most on this website. So, being the Muslim that I am, many people think it's acceptable to make references to my heritage in ways that are just plain disgusting, such as, "don't get your turban in a knot", or "don't blow me up, please!" I mean, you can call me names that are irrelevant to my actual life, you can even push me around a bit, but honestly, why go to that point? It really bugs me! What if I went up to a black guy, and called him a n*****? What if I went up to an Asian, and called him a ch***? Wouldn't that be terrible? Would that be considered socially acceptable? I'm almost 100% sure I'd get owned on the spot. And comparing those jokes to like, your mom jokes, or even making fun of someone's minor problems! And again, I can't retaliate, because that fake terrorist accusation would become a reality in a snap. I can't get into any form of physical roughhousing without that happening. It's frustrating, to say the least.

 |  I understand your thoughts on this. I'm completely against racism, not to mention bashing people based on their religion. Now, no one has ever had the nerve to mock me about it, but I can still understand how it feels. A bit of advice? Just keep trying to let it go and ignore them. |

| |  I feel ya. Once when I moved, I was picked on for having white skin by the natives (I'm a Mi'kmaq which makes it seem completely pointless but they didn't believe me D=). Worst year of my life. (The technology is in the stone ages too, they just got cell phones 2 years ago and there's a 5 gig bandwidth limit!) |

I get these references told to me almost everyday but I don't mind since the people saying it to me are my friends and are Muslim too, so they obviously don't mean it. But I don't care at all if someone calls me a terrorist or something. I just hate it when they take it too far. |
