Sean Bell Shooting (2 years later, no Justice)

Posted 05-11-2008 at 06:12 PM by AceFatal

The Sean Bell shooting incident took place in the New York City borough of Queens on November 25, 2006 in which, 3 unarmed African-American men were shot at 50 times by plainclothes NYPD officers, resulting in the death of one of the men, Sean Bell, on the morning of his wedding day, and severely wounding two of his friends.

Two years later, the police officers were were charged not guilty for the shooting. Because they were "just doing their job" But It was really manslaughter and reckless endangerment. I find it extremely wrong to not convict these police officers for shooting an innocent man, on his wedding day. People find it really similar to the Rodney King incident and the 1980's Subway Shooting. But the excuse from these crooked cops was self defense? Since when does 5o shots to man in his car count as self defense, the cops didn't give a warning to Bell before the shots were fired. That amount of force wasn't needed at all.

Post how you feel about this.

Brutal, man...

This is very much like the Rodney King incident. What reason did the cops have to shoot at the guy, what was he doing that would cause the cops to fire 50 shots at him?!

Well, if he DID do anything, just locking him up would have been enough, but if they even HAD to shoot him, 50 shots? That's overkill. It was unnecessary, and all they got was a slap on the wrist. They kill one, severely would 2 others, and they're all ramped up when a cop gets shot? Where is the justice in the land of the free? Iv'e felt this before, personally. My Sister's friend's mom's fiance got shot and killed by a cop, no reason. S*** like this just makes you want to kill a cop.
