(By the way, I'm talking about Rock Band "1", as it only recently released in Australia after being delayed for about a decade).

So anyway, I've been looking for this game for a looooong ass time on the Xbox 360. One day, I saw it at my local Big W (or Wal-Mart to you playing at home) for a rather cheap price. I ripped out my card and bought it. So I get home, open the case and violently throw the disc into my Xbox. I get out my guitar controller, press play Rock Band and after a few seconds....

AN ERROR MESSAGE

However this wasn't one of your average "disc read" errors or the dreaded "lolol u haz redringofdeath" error messages no, this was a...... REGION CODE ERROR? The error message told me that the region code for my console was incorrect for playing this game. I thought the console was just having a spazz, so I open the disc tray to try and clean the disc, only before I did, I saw something rather odd....

THE T-RATING!

I had just realized that.... I purchased an American copy of the bloody game! However, when I checked the box and the instruction manual, they had the Australian PG rating on them. This confused the hell out of me. How the hell can a games distributer/EA managed to put an American game into an Australian box with an Australian manual? Well, when I went down to my local Big W to inquire about this, I found out how.

If you've been paying attention, Rock Band only released in Australia a few months ago (and over a year ago in the US). So what's been happening is that Australian's have obviously been importing the American version to play on their Xbox 360 consoles. But after they were greeted with the dreaded "Region Code Error", when the game finally came out here, they went and purchased it from a local shop, swapped the discs around so they had the Australian one and took it back for a refund. Apparently, it's happened three times at that store alone. I'm starting to think this is the reason why the Xbox 360 version is in limited stock all over the place.

Be warned all Australians/Dani, if you're going to buy Rock Band for an Xbox 360, check the disc's rating first. Have a nice wateva
