My Swine flu ridden adventure to France!

Well, as most of you will know I have been in France for the week. I had a great time if anyone is wondering, except for one thing. If anyone in England seen the Daily Mail yesterday then you would have seen their story about a group of children from England who visited France and contracted swine flu whilst there. Now, do not make any assumptions yet. I am fine. My whole school is fine BUT I think you may still find this interesting. Our school shared the hotel with the swine flu school and I want to tell you what REALLY happened. A firsthand account, not what the newspapers published. So, here we go....
It was a bright sunny day in France and we had just returned from a trip to Omaha Beach, the site of the D Day Landings. We were all outside on the grass when all of a sudden we could hear sirens in the distance. A doctor had been the hotel the day before so we all assumed that it was just a check up because apparently the boy who was ill had gotten worse over night. We soon realised however that this was not a check up. More and more sirens blazed and two trucks came around the corner along with an ambulance. They screeched to a halt at the doors of the hotel and out jumped about 12 men all wearing protective anti bacterial suits. One came rushing over to our teachers and told them to round us all up and go inside to a separate part of the hotel. We did as we were told and got put in a room with a TV and lots of books. The men then corded off the building and stuck a quarantine notice on the door. We stayed there for about 3 hours while the other school got checked and packed their bags. (NOT 5 MINUTES LIKE THE PAPERS SUGGEST) A bus came and all of the students of the swine flu school all came out with masks on, got on the bus and we never saw them again.
A few days later we were on our way to Disney when we got told that the news had reached English press. When we got off our bus at school the place was swarming with press trying to get a better account of what happened.
So, that’s what happened. It was soooo coooooooool! Any questions?

Sounds disturbing but also very cool.

Well i suppose all is good as long as noone gets swine flu.... seems unlikely siince a 'cure' wont be available for awhile though. hope it doesnt come back stronger in the fall in the states. did any of your friends come down with this?Posted 07-25-09 at 11:52 PM by soundwave
