Brawl, the end to all gaming?

With only a few weeks from arrival, i've been meaning to ask a quick question to all you Wii owners out there. And Brawl usually yields a genuinely large reaction.

Ever since the game was delayed almost everybody has been listing what games they're playing "until Brawl arrives". Like once Brawl comes out all other games will be nonexistent and will pale so much in comparison that they'll be secondary at best.

I know most people are convinced that Brawl will last them until we've found an energy source to replace fuel, but how long do you think Brawl will keep YOU busy? When will you reach the point where you're no longer "all Brawl all the time?" How long will the craze last after release? Does the online multiplayer all but guarantee unlimited replayability?

As for me? I'll be playing plenty of Brawl, plenty, but I'll still be looking foward to other top of the line tittles too, Mario Kart anyone? But with online multiplayer, it's possible that it'll never really get old. I mean I still enjoy hanging out with some of my friends, drinking and playing Melee, which still maintain the fun and value after all these years, and with Brawl looking better and better each day... it's scary to think just how long it could run.

| | You kind of do make a good point. I'll give myself a week or two before I get bored with it, then I'll just wait for a new title. Sadly though Brawl will be overblown just like Pokemon D/P was...Brawl will consume the forums just like Pokemon did. I'll give it 3 or 4 months to start dying down. But we'll see... I do look forward to brawling though. ;p |

| | Brawl won't last forever, but you'll probably be able to find a large amount of people on wifi for at least a good 5 or 6 years. Although people will still be playing brawl, it's not as if other games will start to look boring. Sure, a few months after release wifi will still have plenty of people on, but that doesn't mean anyone will ONLY be playing brawl. Plenty of awesome games are coming out, i doubt any game can end all of them. |

| | Yea plenty, but it's gonna be hard to top off Brawl. Unless Fable 2 or Gears 2 can deliver a strong enough impact. Not to mention Mario Kart Wii is looking really good, and if the voice chat gets through, it'll definitely give Brawl a challenge on the NPD charts. |

| | I'll be playing Brawl for a long time. But, I will eventually get tired of it, and set it down for a few months. Then I'll pick it up and play nonstop again. |
