Home Invasion

Posted 10-03-2008 at 04:54 PM by SockPuppet
I came home today to find that the back door was open. At first I thought it was my mother who forgot to lock the door again when she left so I called her about it. Anyways, I started looking around the house and noticed that the door to my brother's room was open so I decided to take a look. Missing was his huge HD TV so I called him to see if he was doing anything. Sure enough, it was nothing, and I called the police.

I checked with the neighbor while I was waiting for the police to show up. The police officer came and did his routine, taking snap shots asking questions, etc... My brother and mother showed up moments later though my mom does have a tendency to show up late even if it is an emergency. Gone were my brother's tv, his PSP, my mom's jewelery, fake jewelery, silver collection, and a DVD player. Nothing was missing from my room which makes me glad but a little disappointed. I guess no one wants my 9-tracks, VHS recorder, and record player*.

* I don't really own those.

That sucks. Any chance it might be someone you know? I ask because most robberies are done on impulse, and that it's odd your room was untouched. I’m under the impression it was someone that knew his or her way around the house. I'm no detective, so I could be wrong....

Cripes, Sock. Keep an eye out on eBay and the pawn shops around your house; a friend of mine had nearly every piece of electronic equipment she owned stolen and she reclaimed most of it that way.
