The guide is mainly based of the
PS3 and
360 versions, but I'm pretty sure it applies to the
Wii as well.
Snipers
I know this may make me sound like a nerd, but sniping is an art. A good sniper knows better than to run out into the middle of the map and start firing as if they had an SMG. Snipers should know a map inside and out. They should know the best locations to snipe and be able to move from place to place without being detected.
Springfield - My preferred sniper due to its accuracy. My acc is 49% with this gun and I'd recommend this or the Kar98k for wannabe snipers (at least until you get the PTRS)
Class(es) Recommended:
Class Name: Standard Sniper
Gun: Springfield w/ Sniper Scope
Sidearm: .357 Magnum/Walther P38/Nambu
Perk 1: Bouncing Betty x2/Tabun Gas x3
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Deep Impact/Iron Lungs(Only If You Need It)/Second Chance
Arisaka - Garbage imo. Worst out of all the snipers.
Class(es) Recommended:
Class Name: Boom n' run
Gun: Arisaka w/ Rifle Grenade
Sidearm: .357 Magnum/Walther P38/Nambu
Perk 1: N/A
Perk 2: Stopping Power/Fireworks (Depending on if you plan on using your actual Arisaka often)
Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning/Dead Silence/Martyrdom/Second Chance
Mosin-Nagant - My old favorite, until it screwed me over due to the inaccuracy. Recommended for the experienced and patient sniper. Not good for run n' gunning.
Recommended Class
Class Name: N/A
Gun: Mosin-Nagant w/ Sniper Scope
Sidearm: .357 Magnum/Walther P38/Nambu
Perk 1: Bouncing Betty
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Deep Impact/Second Chance
PTRS-41 - Seriously, this sniper is incredibly superior to all the other snipers. It's gas powered, so there is barely any penalty for missing a target. Can be used as a shotgun up close. Recommended over all the other snipers.
Class Name: Qu1K$c0p3z (By -AJ-)
Gun: PTRS-41
Sidearm: .357 Magnum/Walther P38/Nambu
Perk 1: Bomb Squad/Bouncing Betty's
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Dead Silence/Second Chance/Deep Impact/Steady Aim (No scopes)
SMG's
Thompson - Round drum is a necessity for this gun due to the small cartridge. It's decent, but imo inferior to the Type 100
Class(es) Recommended:
Class Name: SubMarine (LOL WUT GET IT?)
Gun: Thompson w/ Round Drum
Sidearm: .357 Magnum/Walther P38/Nambu
Perk 1: Bomb Squad
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Steady Aim/Second Chance
Type 100 - My favorite SMG to attach a silencer because it retains a decent range. I recommend you fire in bursts with this gun, as it is imo the best smg for assassinations.
Class(es) Recommended:
Class Name: Ninjalulz
Gun: Type 100 w/ Silencer
Sidearm: .357 Magnum/Walther P38/Nambu
Perk 1: Bomb Squad/Tabun Gas x3
Perk 2: Stopping Power/Camouflage(I don't use it but it's apparently popularly used w/silencers)
Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning/Second Chance/Dead Silence
MP40 - My favorite gun and one of the cheapest. I have racked up 4000+ kills with this gun, a few of them being the people at the top of the XBL leaderboards and 3 of the Top 20 2 man teams on gamebattles. But enough about me, lets talk about why this gun is so bad ***. The best thing about this gun is the dual magazine attachment. This gun is incredible for the spray n' pray tactic. Very powerful and very accurate when fired in bursts. A lot of people like to put a silencer on it, but really that just diminishes its effectiveness at mid-range to long-range combat.
Class(es) Recommended:
Class Name: Noob
Gun: MP40 w/ Dual Magazines
Sidearm: .357 Magnum/Walther P38/Nambu
Perk 1: Bomb Squad
Perk 2: Juggernaut
Perk 3: Second Chance
Using Juggernaut with Second Chance is very noobish, but if you can swallow your pride and get passed the name calling, you've got yourself one of the most broken classes in the game.
Class Name: Pizza
Gun: MP40 w/ Dual Magazines
Sidearm: .357 Magnum/Walther P38/Nambu
Perk 1: Bomb Squad
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Steady Aim
Another cheap class.
PPSh-41 - Arguably the flashiest out of the SMG's. Round drum is a necessity. This gun has an amazing fire rate. However, ammo depletes fast and the bullets are not quite as strong.
Rifles
SVT-40 - My favorite rifle. It has the accuracy of a sniper and for some reason I feel very relaxed when I fire it. I guess it's pretty impotant to be comfortable with your weapon.
Gewehr 43 - People with modded controllers seem to love this weapon because there's little recoil when fired. I wouldn't suggest this gun unless you are a decent sniper and have a quick trigger finger.
M1 Garand - The strongest rifle and the only one with an unlockable scope. This gun has the power of a Springfield and can be compared to Call of Duty 4's M21 when used with a scope. I do not recommend this gun for competitive play. It is, however, fun to mess around with. It's really good for quick scoping.
STG-44 - The only assault rifle in the game. A lot of people like using double-tap. It makes it like a weak version of Call of Duty 4's AK-47.
M1A1 Carbine - This gun, stat-wise, is the best rifle overall. Altough, I choose to use the SVT. I guess it just comes down to feeling comfortable with your weapon.
Shotguns
Trench Gun - Incredible for Nazi Zombies, garbage for multi-player. I'd recommend the Double-Barreled over this anyday.
Double-Barreled - Overpowered and has a good fire rate. Please don't put stopping power on this gun. You'll just be wasting a perk if you do. Stick with Sleight of Hand. My advice on using this gun is to make a habit of firing from the hip more.
MG's
MG42 - It's really just a bulky PPSh. I do not like using it at all.
Browning M1919 - Looks pretty, but that's about it. The only time people have ever killed me with this gun is either they were behind me, or I was a Sniper fighting close range.
FG42 - I like this gun a lot, but unfortunately the ammo cartridge is way too small.
DP-28 - Fires similar to an MP40. A good MG when used long range.
BAR - Good MG to camp with. I use it a lot in the early levels.
Type 99 - My favorite MG. Really the only downsides to this gun is that it's heavy and reloads slow. Excellent for camping.
Random Notes:
Dropshot (360/PS3 Only) - Dropshot is when you encounter an opponent and immediately prone to the ground and fire. This gives you the advantage as opponents usually aim for the torso or head. (A good counter to this is to fire from the hip)
Frag Vs N 74 ST Grenades - I personally prefer frags due to it's range and that it can be bounced off walls. Bouncing grenades are a great plus when you're trying to throw a grenade through a window while standing under it or into a room while standing parallel to the entrance. I don't really see the point of N 74 ST grenades on the
wii since there are no tanks in multi-player.
Sniping Tip - A lot of people like to hold their breath while they snipe. Sometimes it's not always smart to hold your breath since it decreases sensitivity, making it harder to lock onto your target it when they're moving. I suggest you only hold your breath when you are trying to snipe long range, and by long range I mean like across the map.
NOTE: This guide is very, very incomplete (I wrote most of this via iPod Touch)
