Introduction
As you all know, the Mario Kart series had a big part in making Nintendo what it is today. Your basic characters each with their own kart. But this time, things are changed. The one man pilot is now a myth, for there are now 2 people to a kart! You are probably thinking, “if there are 2 people to a kart, then there will only be so many karts and character sets to choose from.” Well, you are wrong. Mario Kart Double Dash features twice the amount of Characters then ever before. A racing revolution has spawned upon us. A revolution so big that only Mario Kart Double Dash is able to with-hold. Are you ready for twice the mayhem? 3.. 2.. 1.. Mexigo!!
Controls
Much like any other racing game, the controls are basic.
A Button: drive kart
B Button: slam the breaks!! :o
R Button: enables kart to drift. (thanks for the help on that one Chaoszero XD)
L Button: enables kart to drift.
Y Button: use item
X Button: use item
Z Button: switch character (front to back or vice-versa)
Joy Stick: turn kart in any direction
D-Pad: change map
Gameplay
Ok the gameplay – really not much different then your past Mario Kart games. Still the same driving tactics, but there are many more added features, which is what makes this game so great. The person in the back shoots the items, and the person in front drives of course. You can combine any of your two favorite characters together, and karts as well. A variety of new courses have been added, making it more than the average racing game. Now what would Mario Kart Double Dash be, without a “Double Dash?” yes in MKDD you are able to perform a double dash, getting you twice the speed off your starting boost. Many of the items are still your classics, but now there are not only your regular items, there are also Special Items. Each character has their own item giving them a special power. With the mass amount of new characters, karts, and unique style of gameplay, this game is sure to keep you hooked for twice the amount of time. A
5/5.
Sound
When you played Mario Kart, did you ever listen to that out of date music? Well now its time to crank the stereos up, because Mario Kart is back, and here with even more wild and heart thumping tunes then ever before! (back to reality). Mario Kart games have always had the same basis for their music. Its kind of a stupid melody to hum while walking to your classroom. Many cool sound effects give a realistic feel to the items when being fired, and there is always those annoying saying the characters use to throw off their opponents. Burning rubber on the sandy beaches or careening bridges creates a feel just like you were driving a street car. Overall, the music isn’t that bad, and the sound quality is crisp. A
4/5 Picture
When we started out with MK64, the graphics weren’t enhanced one bit compared to the technology we have today. In Mario Kart Double Dash, you are able to see some of the most mind blowing of graphics that the Mario Kart series has ever seen. Not only do the karts look refined, but every little detail is visible. Just imagine how well-done the graphics will be when the
Wii releases. Mario Kart games have definitely evolved over the past years. There is an array of courses all with environmental features as if they were being painted by a professional artist. If you are looking for a game that hosts well done graphics and amazing effects. Look no further, because Mario Kart Double Dash is waiting at the finish line for you ^_^. Overall, a
4/5. not too bad, not to bad..

You can customize your characters and karts only in Mario Kart Double Dash!!
Replay Value
When I first got my hands on Mario Kart Double Dash!!, no one could stop me from playing it. Me and my brother played constantly for hours, ramming each other off the bridge in Dino Dino Island. What more could you say about the replay value for this game. The Mario Kart series has hooked Nintendo fans around the world, and won’t stop here. Gather a couple of friends with you and have a 4 player race. That’s the best result you’re going to get. But even if you are playing by yourself, MKDD is sure to knock your socks off. I’m pretty sure all of you have heard of this game. I myself got it in 2003 and I’m still playing it. No matter whether you have restarted your game or you still have your old racing file, Mario Kart Double Dash!! Won’t disappoint you in any way, shape, or form. With all of the unlockable characters and karts in this game, twice the fun is good for a healthy soul guarunteed. A
5/5
So overall, this is plainly just a great game. If you still haven’t picked this game up, now is the time to get it. I was very impressed when Nintendo finally thought of doing more with Mario Kart Double Dash!! Rather then just keeping the same old style of gameplay. The karts are unique, the courses are unique, everything. If Mario Kart has not impressed you, it will this time. You can probably still pick this game up at an EB Games or Gamestop. If you are heading over there, definitely take this game with you. Or maybe just jot it down on your Christmas list. Whatever the reason, 2 heads are better than 1.
