Introduction: This game is the first in the Zelda series. It is a very long game with many secrets and puzzles. If you leave the game idle for 30 seconds, the game gives you the introduction along with the long list of items in the game.

ALOT of items eh?
Once you first begin your quest, you are unarmed and can see a cave right next to you. When you enter it, a man gives you a wooden sword. It's pretty weak, but you will get more powerful swords later in the game.
Controls: The controls are extremely easy to use. They couldn't be any simpler: attack with your sword, sometimes use your secondary weapon and walk around. Thats it. I give the controls a
5/5
Up: Move you character up
Down: Move you character down
Left: Move you character left
Right: Move you character right
A: Attack with your sword
B: Use seconday weapon such as bombs or boomerang
Start: Show stats/ Switch secondary weapon
Select: Pause the game
Gameplay: Like all Zelda games, you start with only three hearts but will gain more as you progress through the game. You fight all sorts of enemys such as Octoroks and Like Likes which still appear in Zelda games today. There are merchants that want to sell you items which you must may for in rupees which you must collect by killing monsters.
There are eight dungeons (Nine including Ganons dungeon). You have to find them and are not given any clues to where they are. This may get frustrating at times because after you complete a dungeon, you don't really no where to go to next. It is very rewarding once you find it though since the dungeon's are jam packed with secrets, enemies, items and a boss at the end. I loved playing this game because it felt so good to solve a puzzle after you have been stumped for hours. I give the gameplay a
5/5
Sound: The music in this game is awesome. I can't get enough of the
Overworld Music. The
Chime once you have figured out a puzzle, everyone knows that. I also like the effect that plays once
You have found a new item. It's amazing what the creaters were able to do with the technology at the time. I have to give the sound a
5/5. Replay Value: There is alot of replay value in this game. The reason for this is because once you beat the game, you get a chance to play again with harder dungeons and the positions of the dungeons have been moved. You can go on a brand new adventure right after beating it! I give the replay value a
5/5 Pros
+ Great Storyline
+ The Game Play is Phenomenal
+ TWO QUESTS!
+ Lots of Weapons at your Disposal
+ Extraordinary Music (This music for this game is still played at a concert called "Video Games Live" with a full orchestra)
+ Challenging Puzzles
Cons:
- You may get stuck on a puzzle and it may take hours, even days to figure out (But once you do, this quickly turns into a Pro because it feels great to solve a puzzle after such a long time)
Overall this game
DESERVES a
5/5. It made a path for more than a dozen sequels. You
MUST experience this game. It has a surprising amount of depth and is one of my all-time favourite games of all time. This game is right up there with Super Mario Bros. If you have not played this game, get it on the
Wii's Virtual Console. You won't be disapointed.
