Best Read While listening to the game's original music (Strongly Recommended)

Genre: RPG and Adventure
Number of Players: 1
Release Date: 1987
Introduction: You are presented a storyline (Above) when you start the game telling of "Four Light Warriors who will come forth and save the world from peril". You then assemble your party however you like. You
choose the Light warriors. You can choose among a Fighter, Blackbelt, Theif, Red Mage, Black Mage and White Mage. (I will go deeper into their abilities later) Once you choose your party, you start out outside a town with a castle.
Once you speak to the king, he recognizes you as the light warriors and orders you to save the princess who has been captured by Garland, a knight who has betrayed the king. To prepare for this battle you buy weapons and buy your magic at a "Magic Shop".
You head out to Garland's castle to fight him and rescue the princess.
Once you do, the king will build you a bridge to the rest of the world, which is when your adventure really begins!

Controls: The controls are extremely easy to use. They couldn't be any simpler: Confirm selections with A, Go back or cancel with B and Press Start to bring up the menu. Thats it. I give the controls a
5/5

Gameplay: This is a Turn based RPG, which means each team attacks each other untill one of the team perishes. It may sound boring, but it is actually very fun and strategic. When choosing your party there is a big difference between each character. You chose among a:
Fighter: Who uses armour, swords, and is very strong
Theif: He can learn a bit of black magic, is weak, but his specialty is dodging attacks and running from battles
White Mage: Is weak, but can help the team by aiding them in battle by recovering health and curing ailments. Can also do massive damage to the undead.
Black Mage: Slightly stronger than the white mage, and does masive offensive damage with spells.
Red Mage: Stronger than the Black and White mage, can learn some black and white magic, but cannot master any.
Black Belt: He is extremely strong and after leveling up a few times, is a stronger fighter unarmed.
There is alot of strategy in this game such as to go all offensive or defensive. A good strategy is to have a bit of both. A strong party consists of: A Fighter, a Monk, a Black Mage, and a White Mage. This is an extremely long game with an
amazing storyline. I give the gameplay a
5/5
Sound: The music in this game is awesome. I can't get enough of the
Battle Music. The
Chime once you have defeated the enemy, everyone knows that. It's amazing what the creaters were able to do with the technology at the time. A famous composer in Japan actually did the music for this game. The sound really deserves a 5/5.
Replay Value: Even though I loved playing this game and it was a great experience, it isn't really that much fun to beat it again because you know the storyline. However, you can construct a different party than before and play through the game with different (Or even all of the same) people. After a break from it, you may want to play it again. I give the replay value a
4/5 Pros:
+ Great Boss Battles
+ Fun Battle System
+ Alot Of Collectable Items
+ Lots Of Exploration
Cons:
- The Random Battles Get Tedious
- Battles Are Sometimes Extremely Difficult If Not Leveled Up Properly
Overall this game DESERVES a 5/5. It made a path for more than a dozen sequels. You MUST experience this game. It has a surprising amount of depth and is one of my all-time favourite games of all time. This game is right up there with Super Mario Bros and The Legend Of Zelda. If you have not played this game, get it on the
Wii's Virtual Console. You won't be disapointed.
Interesting Fact: The game was named "Final Fantasy" because Square was going out of buisiness and
thought this would be their
final game. It was such a hit that the series is up to Twelve and still going strong today!
