Welcome to the Comics forum! this is a forum for comics, (duh). Like all forums, we have our rules and regulations here! so here are the rules:
What kinds of threads can we start here?
Only start threads with your own comics! Do not start discussions about comics you've read on here! Please do that at general discussions!
What kinds of comics can I put up?
Sprite comics, hand drawn, computer drawn, it's all good! As long as you created it, it's ok.
Can I write about anything on here?
No. You cannot make a comic with lots and lots of gore and blood, sex, drug references, or swearing. If you are unsure if a comic is ok for this site, please ask a mod or admin. Slight blood is OK, if a character gets hit with something, and s/he bleeds, fine. But if a room is painted with the disemboweled bodies' guts and organs. No.
Dude, this guy has the STUPIDEST idea for a comic ever!
Not really a question, but comics like these ARE NOT appreciated on here! You have no idea how hard it is to get a comic going, so please keep comments like this to yourself! If you want to suggest ways to HELP the comic artist, by all means do so. Just don't be rude.
Can I use people/pictures I found from
FC to star in my comic?
Please ask permission before you start putting people into comics! Some people are not interested, so you should not put them in without their consent! if you use pictures other people drew, make sure to give credit where credit is due!(this includes sprites. please credit URL where you got the sprites from)
Can I copy ideas?
No. You may NOT make copies of other peoples comics.
General questions about comics
How do I start a comic?
a good way to start is having a plot. (Duh) if you really want to get serious, start with the end in mind. Before you start, have a solid beginning, middle and end. Then it gets easier to write, because you have a goal to get to.
I don't know how to use good paneling, can you help?
After you draw a page, take a step back and look at the paper. When you read the panels, do your eyes go where you want them to? does it flow? if it doesn't, re-think your paneling. (it helps if you sketch out the panels before you start on some scratch paper)
I can't draw! what can I do?
Learn to draw silly! Go find some tutorial's on the internet, or find some books. If you don't WANT to draw for yourself, see if you can find someone who is willing, then you can start a writer/artist partnership.
I can't think of a good story
Don't force yourself to write, let it come to you! You can get random inspirations at random times. A quote, a picture, something you see in life, can get ideas started!
Can I make threads and make comics later?
No, you have to have them when the thread is made.
