100-Year-Old Enjoys Gaming

Video games are mostly produced for and aimed at young audiences, but Kathleen ‘Kit’ Connell from the UK is enjoying her DS into her triple digits at the age of 100. Kit says that she plays video games on her DS console for 2 hours every day in order to keep her mind active, which she also says is the key to a good, long life. Kit first picked up a video game at 96 and has been regularly playing since.

Her collection of games consists of My Word Coach, Left Brain Right Brain 2, Easy Piano and Brain Training in which her brain age is 64. So 36 years younger than her actual age, which is pretty remarkable.

She also makes sure to take breaks, just like any other gamer should for their health. “I’ll play it in the evening, then I’ll have a break and a cup of tea, then I’ll go back to playing my Nintendo,” Kit says. What a cool old lady.

there isn't really enough people saying how awesome this is. I actually can see my self at that age playing puzzle games all day. i do it now and i find it helps. When i don't do any puzzle type activities i notice that i don't think of things that should be obvious and i also forget everything. Just like her. The brain games i usually hit 20 when i do puzzle things for awhile. So i have the speed of a 20 year old...when i dont do puzzles i usually get 40 >_<

This lady is awesome. She is definitely doing a lot more than other people who are 100 and just sitting in a chair, sleeping all the time, no activity at all (not even exercising their brain).

I give this lady 5/5 Stars.

I want to see someone like this.. who plays actual games! XD (such as mario kart, zelda, etc.)
Still awesome seeing someone like this enjoying a DS though. Wish there could be more elderly people like her.
