    Introduction
Your favorite 2D plumbers are back, and their bringing their younger selves to the wondrous past of the Mushroom Kingdom! Mario and Luigi are on yet another adventure – with some tagalongs that is. Yes it is Mario and Luigi Partners in time for the Nintendo DS. This sequel to the earlier version for the GBA is back and jam packed with even twice the humor! Battle enemies with not only the plumbers, but the tykes too! This game is sure to keep you hooked for hours. It shows you enough proof that the mustashioed brothers never get old. Get ready everyone, were going back in time! (Literally) ^_^

NOTE: I had made a diagram of the controls, but it wouldnt turn out right -_-

    Gameplay
In their first debut, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, your were introduced by an array of moves never seen before. But in their sequel for the DS, you are able to use the touch screen to view your game on the bottom screen, and view a handy map on the top. Now is that something?!? and now that there is 4 of you, each character can perform specific moves and combos. If incase the brothers get seperated, one is able to be viewed on the top and the other is viewed on the bottom. 2 screens come in handy all the time ^_^. M & L 2 is jam-packed with more enemies and harder bosses-making the game much more challenging then the first. Overall the gameplay gets a 5

    Sound
The Sound-or shall i say music, is OK. It didnt leave too much of an impression on my face, but I kept humming the gosh darn tunes wherever I went:P . The music isnt much different then the first game, but there has been a few changes. You cant not love the sound of an original Mario tune ^_^. The sound quality is very clear. Thats a plus. and each area has a different tune-so you dont have to listen to the same thing over and over again (well, with the exception of the repeating battle music.. XD). With the added sound effects, and hilarious dialogue, I give the sound an 3

    Picture
Now, whats not to love about a 2D environment? Nothing. The way I think of it, the looks of this game are a spoof off of Paper Mario. The characters, the trees, the buildings, everything. Thats what makes this game as well as its first for the GBA so unique. The expressions of Mario and Luigi kept me laughing for hours. The map (viewed on the top screen) is very well done, and the graphics astonished me for such a game like this. Alpha Dream has worked wonders in the graphical department. Also a thing to point out- the spinning of the tornadoes (in Thwomp Volcano), and the dust clouds from the shells (during battle) show alot of reality compared with stuff that goes on here. All I'm saying: very realistic. a 4

(no problem with the graphics there) ^_^

    Single Player
When I picked up a copy of this game, I thought there would be some kind of multiplayer. There wasn't, but I was suprised of how much the single player had improved since the release of the first game. In the sequel for the DS, Princess Peach has been sucked back in time by E. Gadds Time Machine and taken away by a new army of baddies: The shroobs. They plan to steal the princess and destroy the time portals, so she would never be rescued. (yes I know, another evil group ready to steal the princess. what could they possibly think of next?) , and time portals started to pop open all over the castle! Who better to save the princess than the plumbing duo themselves. You start out at the lovely Mushroom Kingdom, and you meet up with your younger brothers! In order to save the princess, you must travel back in time, and go through a series of levels; then leading up to the end where you must battle the shroob princess and her ugly sister to retrieve the Cobalt Star and repair the time machine. There are also a variety of items and Bro's attacks to strenghten the plumbers along the way. The single player is a great feature for those who absolutely love role-playing games. In my opinion, a 4.5 (in my opinion)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So overall, this game gets a 9.5. The mustashioed brothers had pulled off a great RPG. And we have Alpha Dream to thank. If you still haven't picked up a copy of this game, (most unlikely ^_^) you definately should. This game as well as the last was a very awesome yet challenging title. In fact I still havent finished it. If they did this well on developing this game, and have brought in numerous fans to nintendo, they definately wont stop here. Be on the lookout for the 3rd sequel soon. Experience the fun of traveling back in time with not only the plumbers, but their lil bros too! In Mario and Luigi Partners in Time.

Here are a couple of trailers for this game: M&L 2 Trailers

I know this is an old review, but I must point out that this game is not harder than Superstar Saga! Beating the final boss of M+L SS is very challenging! I beat M+L PIT much faster and easier.
