Alas, the Pokemon Center in Japan has a little surprise for us! Since we are obvious fans of anything with Pikachu's face on it, they have announced a new Pikachu 3DS XL (3DS LL in Japan) that will be exclusively sold at Pokemon Centers across Japan.

This adorable 3DS features a bright yellow Pikachu reaching out to hug you. Beware of the electrical currents. This 3DS will be sold for ¥18,900 (approx. $239 USD). Did I mention how adorable it is?

However, there is a catch. They will only be sold to those who pre-order it. So if you want it, you have to pre-order it sometime between August 25th and September 14th. This is keeping in line with their previous DS releases. Players who pre-order this 3DS will be able to get them September 15th.

Since Nintendo announced the 3DS XL on June 21st, this will be the first limited edition 3DS XL announced. All I can say is I hope they don't go blind. I mean come on, a bright yellow 3DS? They should make sunglasses a requirement to pre-order.

Crap!! I already ordered my 3DS XL and was planing to pick it up this Sunday. Oh well, at least I have some awsome radioactive symbol stickers to put on my 3DS XL. Still nowhere near as awsome as Pikachu.

It's print-on-demand? And here I was hoping it'd be easy to find secondhand.
Well, it's ruled out for me, since I can't justify spending $250+ with shipping on a 3DS. Even if it means I can import games, I'd just get a standard-issue Japanese one for much less.

It works well on Google Chrome since it has an instant "Would you like to translate it?". Works perfectly on both the original and chrome, I checked.

Anyways, im not a bg fan of the pokemon style consoles. This doesnt appeal to me at all. but I can see why others would want it.
