• [VIDEO] Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Here is another video coming from the recent PAX 2012 convention. Thanks to GamesRadar, we have some off-screen footage of the much anticipated Paper Mario: Sticker Star for the 3DS. As you can see in the video below, the visuals are even more 'papery' than the previous titles, with even the trees looking like layered pieces of construction paper. We also get to see a small glimpse of the combat, showing a few different stickers being used, as well as seeing that the timing of your attacks will still provide you with bonus damage. The biggest thing to me, however, is the fact that we now know that Paper Mario: Sticker Star will be using a world map to travel to different areas. This map is similiar to that of the older 2D Super Mario games, such as Super Mario 3. I think this is an interesting change, but wonder how this effects traveling to new areas for the first time.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star is set to release in North America on November 11th, and though we still have no word of the European release, a solid release date is surely eminent.

Can't wait for this, I was going to try a no sticker run but it looks like that's not possible. I guess I'll go for a no health upgrade run on my first go around

      Mixed feelings about this..
happy they've gone back to the paper mario 1 and 2 style, happy they've gone back into turn based rpg battles..
not so thrilled about using stickers for the most basic attacks though. I could tolerate and welcome using them for everything else (items, the world uses that were demoed, etc), but basic attacks too? I tend to hoard my items in rpgs.. this will drive me nuts haha..
also not too happy about not getting exp from battles either. This will likely make me want to avoid battles alltogether to preserve my attacks/stickers and save time.
Are partners coming back at all? They made the journey a lot more comedic and fun.. really hope that "navi" (as the guy put it) isn't the only one traveling with mario. Solo battling is lame :p
Not sure how I feel about the world map yet. Seems convenient.

So excited for this! I really hope it's like TTYD. That was the best one of the series! And yeah, I hope partners come back. Maybe some old ones?

There are no party members at all. Just a Mario Solo RPG that I'm gonna take a pass on. Indeed, using stickers for the most basic attacks is ridiculous. I'll stick with my Thousand Year Door.

Mario had a chain chomp as a partner and a toad, but I've only seen the chain chomp in battle. I also don't really like the stickers, badges were better imo. And it kinda sucks that you can't level up.

I bet the chain chomp was a sticker too. They seem a little obsessive with the stickers...
I'll probably buy the game but.. ehh.. I have a feeling TYD will still be the best one. I've played through it like 5 times and could easily go for more :p

TYD was good, but I still feel the original was the best, actually. At least as far as setting goes. Didn't really like Rougeport.
