Nintendo will be holding a
Wii U press conference event in New York City on September 13th, which may reveal launch details for the
Wii U, and price range in North America. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime will be hosting the event promising to show “more about how the
Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment” and giving a hands-on experience presentation to show the
Wii U's capabilities. Nintendo hinted that there may be launch-window games for spectators to play, which will be the games available upon the
Wii U's release.
Nintendo sent invitations to various media professionals, making sure not to reveal anything just yet, but promising important information will be revealed.
GamesIndustry International received a media invite today for a special event. It reads, "Interested in learning more about how
Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment? Join us for a presentation by Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime followed by hands-on game play and demos."
Will this be the event in which they finally reveal the launch date, and price for the console? It seems likely, considering that Nintendo has a track record of revealing the North American launch dates of their consoles whenever they have Reggie host a big event in New York City, with them doing so for the launch of both the
Wii and the 3DS. For now, the
Wii U is currently expected to have a late 2012 release during the holiday season in North America.
