[Wii U] Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate in 1080p

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, known as Monster Hunter Tri G in Japan, will finally be heading to North America sometime in March of next year for both the 3DS and the Wii U. The 3DS version has been out in Japan for almost a year now, and the western version will be identical. The Wii U version, however, will get some nice upgrades, and prove to be a little bit more than just a ported version of the 3DS original.

We have gotten confirmation from Capcom that the Wii U version of the game will be available in 1080p, a major boost in resolution over the 3DS version. This is to make sure that the game still looks crisp, even on your big TVs. The game will also have it's sound enhanced as well, now having linear PCM 5.1 surround sound. So feel free to get you fancy speaker system hooked up when you play. In addition to this, the Wii U version will feature online multiplayer, while the 3DS version is limited to local multiplayer. There is still a good reason to get the 3DS version though! You will be able to transfer save data between the Wii U and 3DS games, for when you want to hunt monsters on the go. You can also have up to three 3DS play local multiplayer with the Wii U, to make a four man hunting party.

The fact that you can't play online with the 3DS bothers me but at least they're offering a way to get around that. Monster Hunter is Monster Hunter and I want to play it NOW!

From what I understand, MH3U, aka MHTriG, is a combination of 3rd and Tri. I think people say there is about 50% more content compared to Tri, so it may be worth a purchase even if you already played the prior game.

I'd still get MH3U, regardless that I already beaten Tri and got everything possible. There's more monsters, more returning weapons, more armors to collect, more weapons to upgrade, and for a bonus, it has online multiplayer for the Wii U.
