The Story of Kuzon

[Kayzee]

-Chapter four: Fire Lord Kuzo-

The chapter opens up with Kuzon walking home and the sun has now gone down. Once Kuzon gets home, he hears his mom grunting, and the sounds of somebody else in the house. Kuzon shouts "NO!" and instantly draws his sword, barging into the house and seeing another man in the house trying to over power her. He then swings it at an arc by the man's face that nearly cuts the tip of his nose clean off, causing the man to jump backwards.

Kuzon: "Get out!"

Kuzon then spins around and thrusts his foot forward, unleashing a blast of fire from the bottom of his foot that blasts him right out of the house.

Kuzon: "Mom, are you okay?"

Mom: (Catching her breath): "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks Kuzon."

Kuzon: "Another one, huh?"

She slowly looks down. "Yes..." Because of her being highly attractive, all the men in their town were after her, and would do almost anything to get to her, including break into their house, forcing Kuzon to become violently protective of her.

Mom: "Go to sleep now, Kuzon. I'll be all right."

Kuzon heads up the stairs, and the screen goes black and heads to the next scene.

The next scene opens up with Kuzon in class just finishing up his surprise pop quiz and turning it in to the teacher. Once all the students turn in their quizzes, the teacher stands up.

Teacher: "Okay students, I hope you all finished your role model speeches. Now, I'm gonna call on you to come up here and give your speech. If you aren't ready at all, you'll get an F. The first person I'm gonna call on is... Melody."

Melody gets up and starts to speak. Kuzon falls into a daydream and pays no attention to the speech. He is then interrupted by his teacher.

Teacher: "Okay Kuzon, since you want to daydream, let's hear your speech."

Kuzon stands up, holding up a picture frame of his father.

Kuzon: "My report is on my father, Fire Lord Kuzo."

The camera then zooms into the picture and then back into time and shows him while he was in person. Kuzon narrates the story.

"My father, Fire Lord Kuzo was known as Dragon Lord Kuzo in the Fire Nation, because he was the greatest firebender in history."

Kuzo is seen showing some of his vast knowledge of firebending; shooting fire from all ten of his fingertips simultaneously. Flames then cover the screen and it shows Kuzo as a young boy.

"Kuzo's father was a very busy Fire Lord, and never had any time to teach him firebending, so Kuzo learned his firebending directly from the dragons that lived near their house. He saw the dragons as family, and they looked out for him as if he were one of their own anytime his mom and dad were too busy for him. He became part of the family, and learned how to firebend from them."

Kuzo then unleashes a large blast of fire from his mouth.

The scene then shows a much older Kuzo on his throne with a smile on his face.

"However, as powerful and dangerous as my father was, he was the most gentle, nonviolent person you could ever meet, and he wanted nothing but peace between the four nations."

The scene goes back to Kuzon reading from a piece of paper.

Kuzon: "Unfortunately, my father passed away a few months ago from a rare sickness, and the crown went to my uncle, Drommin. When I grow up, I want to be just like my father. I was hoping to become fire lord someday, but now that the crown has gone to my uncle, his son will be next in line instead of me."

Kuzon then takes his seat, with some tears rolling down his cheeks. The person behind him pats him on the shoulder.

After class, his crush, Melody walks up to him.

Melody: "Hey, Kuzon is it?"

Kuzon: "Yeah."

Melody: "Um, that was a really nice report you did in class. I'm sorry to hear about what happened..."

Kuzon: "Oh, thanks."

Melody: "So uh, want to have lunch some time?"

Kuzon smiles a bit. "Yeah, that sounds like fun."

Melody and Kuzon both smile at each other, then the bell rings for them to get to class.

Melody: "So uh, I'll see you later?"

Kuzon nods, and walks away from her heading to his next class.

-Chapter five: Lunch-

The bell rings for lunch, and Kuzon heads to the cafeteria meeting up with Melody.

Melody smiles. "I'm glad you could make it!"

Kuzon nods and they both stand in line. With Kuzon's back to the other students, he can hear them whispering about him and her, but tries to ignore it. He then gets his spaghetti lunch and waits for Melody. She walks up to him.

Melody: "Come on."

Kuzon follows Melody to a table and sits down next to her and begins eating.

Melody: "So, your father died, and your brother became fire lord, right?"

Kuzon nods.

Melody: "So what happens when your uncle dies? Do you become fire lord after that?"

Kuzon: "No..."

Melody gives him a curious look.

Kuzon: "My cousin then takes the throne."

Kuzon then frowns.

Melody: "What's so bad about your cousin?"

Kuzon: "He's a jerk, basically. He's very arrogant, he's very snobbish, he just thinks he's the man because he's the son of the new fire lord. He also wishes that the war would have kept going on, and said he might start another one once he's coronated.

Melody gasps. "He reminds me of my boyfriend, Rocky..."

Kuzon: "Yeah. Speaking of Rocky, he won't be too happy seeing me with you."

Melody: "Oh, don't worry. He doesn't have this lunch. Even if he did, I'd put him in his place if he started bullying you again."

Kuzon: "So, what's his problem with me anyway? What's his deal with firebenders?"

Melody giggles. "He's afraid of them."

Kuzon's eyes snap wide open and he spits out his drink all over the table. "He's WHAT?!"

Melody: "He's afraid of firebenders. He tries to hide it by picking on you. Why don't you scare him with a little of that firebending of yours?"

Kuzon: "I can't... I really want to, but I can't."

Melody: "Hmm? Why not?"

Kuzon: "If I'm caught firebending, I'll get arrested, and put in jail. They have a zero tolerance for firebending in this town."

Melody: "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that... So, where do you go to practice your firebending?"

Kuzon: "There's a small beach area hidden in the woods behind my house. I go there to practice."

Kuzon doesn't realize the mistake he just made, but will realize it later.

Melody: "Mind if I come over today to see some of that firebending in action?"

Kuzon: "Not at all."

Kuzon shakes his head and finishes the last of spaghetti. The bell rings.

Melody: "I'll see you after school then!"

Melody smiles and waves while walking out of the cafeteria. Kuzon then heads to his next class as well.

After that class is over, Kuzon goes to his locker and grabs his things for his last class. Unfortunately, he takes a bit too long and the hallways clear. Right as he grabs his things, he is shoved against his locker, his head going into the locker. Rocky then slams the locker door against Kuzon's head. Kuzon is furious, and in pain. He is then pulled out of his locker and his back get slammed against closed lockers. He then grabs Kuzon's neck and pins him to the lockers.

Rocky: "I heard you were having lunch with my girlfriend. Let me tell you something. I don't take kindly to people having lunch with my girl. You'd better back off if you want your head to stay on your body. Are we clear?"

Kuzon, no longer able to hold in his anger, grabs Rocky's wrist and squeezes it. His hand is then seen steaming, and Rocky lets go of his neck and shouts in pain, just having his wrist burned. Kuzon then grabs him by the neck, and pins him against the locker.

Kuzon: "No, let me tell you something! I am sick of you picking on me! I don't see you picking on anybody else but me.

Kuzon then pulls Rocky away from the lockers, then slams him back against the lockers.

Kuzon: "I have HAD it with you picking on me, so the next time you put your hands on me, talk about putting your hands on me, or even think about putting your hands on me..."

Kuzon sets his fist ablaze and holds it near Rocky's face.

Kuzon:"...you'll be cremated on the spot. Are we clear?!"

Rocky: "You can't kill me, they'd throw you in prison for you and your kids lives."

Kuzon: "I can escape prison. But you? You can't escape death.

Kuzon then intensifies the fire around his fist.

Kuzon: "And at the rate you're going, you won't last another week until you start showing me some respect!

Rocky: "Okay, okay! I get it!"

Kuzon lets Rocky go, and Rocky runs off terrified. Kuzon turns to the camera with a deep frown. His eyes are glowing faintly in a golden color. The glow then goes away, but the frown does not as he heads to his next class.

-Chapter six: The Dragon Gene-

The bell rings for the end of the day, and school is let out for the weekend. Kuzon doesn't see Rocky anywhere, but sees Melody waiting for him at the school's front door.

Melody: "Hey Kuzon! Let's go to your place."

Kuzon: "Okay."

Kuzon walks with Melody walking right next to him. Kuzon does an extremely good job at hiding his feelings for her. He acts very aloof, and calm the entire walk home.

Kuzon tells Melody to wait outside while he goes in and grabs a list of glass objects to be made. He comes out with his list, bag, and his hollow metal rod.

Melody: "What's that stuff for?"

Kuzon: "My job."

Melody: "You have to go to work? Aw... when will you get off? I wan--"

Kuzon: "It's alright just come with me."

Kuzon then pushes away come leaves and branches and takes her hand, leading her through the woods. After a short distance, they then enter the secret beach.

Kuzon: "Nobody knows about this place. Try not to tell anybody about it, either."

Melody nods, eager to see his firebending.

Kuzon then heads over to the well and starts dumping sand into it.

Melody: "So, who taught you firebending? Your dad?"

Kuzon pauses for a moment. "No." He then continues to dump sand into the well.

Melody: "Your own father didn't teach you firebending? Why wouldn't he teach firebending to his own son? That doesn't make sense."

Kuzon: My father says that I already know all of his firebending. He said I have a gene inside of me that contains all his firebending knowledge. He says it's a sleeping gene known as the "Dragon Gene" that only wakes up when I really need it. My great grandfather taught me firebending just before he died. He taught me a little of the firebending the Sun Warriors used."

Melody: "Sun warriors?"

Kuzon: "The original human firebenders."

Melody: "Ohhh."

Kuzon finishes dumping sand into the well and then shoots a fire blast down into the well from his fingertips. Melody stares with interest. Once the sand is melted and glowing, Kuzon stops and grabs his rod.

Kuzon: "Melody, you can help me. Grab my sword and a couple arrows."

Melody then draws his sword from his back and a couple arrows. "Nice sword..."

Kuzon: "I'm gonna blow into this rod, and spin it. I want you to use my sword and arrows to shape it into a vase. Be careful not to get any of the molten sand onto your hands, as it is extremely hot at first. Once it solidifies, set it in the shade to cool down.

Melody nods. Kuzon then sticks his rod in the molten sand and pulls it out and holds it near melody. He then rotates the rod to cool it enough to create the bubble. Once the sand cools down a bit, he blows into the rod, and it forms a bubble, then Kuzon starts to rotate it and Melody helps shape it by using his sword and arrow.

Kuzon signals for her to set the vase down to cool, Kuzon then reaches into his bag and pulls out a spoon-like attachment for his rod. He attaches it to his rod and starts to dig a rectangular area in the sand.

Melody: "What are you doing?"

I'm making an area to set some of the molten sand for a window.

Melody smiles. "I can help!" She then smiles and takes a pose and the ground rumbles. A rock then drops in front of Kuzon. Melody then places her fist and palm across from each other, and then pushes forward with her palm, creating a rectangular area in which Kuzon can pour the sand with the exact measurements Kuzon was going for.

Kuzon: "So you're an earthbender?" His eyes widen.

Melody blushes and smiles. "Yep! Best one in the entire school!"

Kuzon: "Really?"

Melody then nods.

Kuzon then sticks his rod with the spoon attachment into the well, pulling out some of the molten sand and pouring it onto the rock. He then does it a few more times. "So if you're an earthbender, why are you so interested in my firebending?" Kuzon then reaches out for his sword.

Melody gives it to him. "All the bending elements interest me, really."

Kuzon nods, and then carefully starts evening out the molten sand with his sword.

Kuzon's mother then appears.

Mom: "Kuzon? You there?"

Kuzon: "Yeah mom, just finishing up a window."

His mom pauses. "I didn't know you had company." She then extends a hand to Melody. "Hi, I'm Kuzon's mom."

Melody jealous at first of her looks then shakes her hand and smiles. "Melody."

Mom: "Kuzon, we're going to the fire nation once you finish what you're doing."

Kuzon: "Why?"

Mom: "Your uncle is finally getting coronated, and he wants us to go."

Kuzon sighs. "Okay, I'm almost done."

Mom: "I have your things packed already, so I'll be waiting for you." She then walks back into the woods and back toward the house.

Melody then picks up a berry. "What are these?" Her mouth opens and she is about to eat the berry.

Kuzon then looks up, turning nearly white in color, and his eyes widen. "Melody NOOOOO!!" Without thinking, he runs over and tackles her."

Melody: "What's your problem?!"

Kuzon grabs the berries, then burns it in his hand and tosses it into the ocean. "Those are mannnaki berries. They're highly poisonous. If you eat one, you will die. Now go, I'm finished with the window, and you've almost caused me a heart attack."

Melody is angry at first, but then becomes sad. "I'm sorry."

Kuzon: "I'll see you in school, okay?"

Melody then nods and Kuzon leads her through the woods and back to his house where his mom and Louie are waiting. Kuzon then smiles to Melody and she begins to walk back to her house.

Kuzon: "Wait. We can give you a ride." Kuzon then gets on Louie's back, and offers her a hand. "Hop on."

Melody smiles then takes Kuzon's hand and sits behind him. She then holds on to him.

Louie takes off running at a fairly high speed, smoothly and gracefully turning corners.

Melody: "There!"

Kuzon then tell mom to tell Louie to stop. She pulls on the ropes and Louie stops.

Melody: "See you in school!" She then hops off and Louie takes off again.

Louie takes path after path seemingly running faster and faster with each step. They then reach a beach and Louie continues to run until he his the water. He then slows down and starts swimming. He then starts to pick up speed while swimming. The camera stays on the beach looking at Louie swim off until he is no longer visible.

-Chapter seven: Journey to the Fire Nation-

The scene opens up in the middle of the ocean where Louie is swimming fairly quickly through the water with Kuzon and his mother on Louie's back.

Mom: "You know Kuzon, now would be a good time to practice your firebending."

Kuzon: "I don't have much room to move though."

His mom then extends her palm to the right shooting a long streamed blast of fire across the ocean.

Mom: "Who said you need room?"

Kuzon nods. "You do have a point."

Kuzon then extends his index and middle fingers on both hands together. He then turns around with his back to his mom. He then extends his right arm out to the right, and then brings his arm down and around to the left in a half-circle. He then extends his left hand out to the left and does the same thing. He then extends both arms forward, but nothing happens. He then groans.

Mom: "Trying lightning again?"

Kuzon: "Yes..."

Mom: "Don't get all worked up over it, son. You can ask your grandpa when we get there."

Kuzon: "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Mom: "So to change the subject, you're learning about Sozin's Comet next week in school?"

Kuzon: "Yeah. I might work with Melody on it, since the teacher said we could partner up if we wanted to."

Mom: "That's a pretty big topic there, Kuzon. I hope you do it well."

Kuzon: "I will."

Mom: "So this Melody girl... you like her?"

Kuzon: "Yeah, I do." He blushes a bit.

Mom: "She's really starting to take a liking to you as well. I'm not sure what you did, but I can tell she's really starting to like you."

Kuzon then gasps, seeing the fins of a couple sharks headed their way.

Mom: "What's wrong?"

Kuzon then draws his bow and loads an arrow on it. "Sharks."

Mom: "Well, get them quickly. Louie is too old to be trying to fight off sharks."

Kuzon aims carefully and fires an arrow through one of the sharks, and it swims away. Kuzon grabs another arrow and gets ready to fire. Another shark jumps out of the water. The shark is larger than all three of them put together. Kuzon then shoots the arrow at the shark's underside. It lands in the water and disappears.

Louie grumbles a bit.

Mom: "Kuzon!"

Kuzon: "They're gone, mom."

Kuzon's mom then sees land in the distance, and the fire navy blockade approaching fast.

Mom: "We're almost there, Kuzon."

Kuzon: "How are we gonna get past the blockade?"

Mom smiles. "We'll just dive underneath them."

Kuzon: "Okay."

Mom: "Hold your breath."

Kuzon does so, and mom holds her breath while patting Louie to go underwater underneath the ships. They successfully swim under the ships, and emerge just out of sight near the shore. Kuzon and his mom catch their breath as they walk on shore. Louie rests, and Kuzon grabs the tent from one side of Louie's saddle, and starts to set it up.

The camera zooms out continuously until they are no longer seen.
