Laetitia Decia: A Symbolic Story - 01-19-09

Okay, so I have to write a symbolic story for school, and I'm in the middle of making an EPIC game idea at the same time. So I decided to use just one of the parts of the game idea to use in the story. Most of what I have already is a synopsis of what's happened so far, though.
____________________________________________
Weeks ago, when I had the time to set myself down at the schoolhouse near my farm, I had a insolent-yet-insightful tutor that uttered a memorable phrase from his mouth. “Science is often the greatest way to find God.” He claimed.

For eons, I, Laetitia Decia, thought that this statement was nothing short of obvious and trivial; I mean, if science is, as my somewhat-knowledgeable parents once told me, “the study of what God made”, you should be able to approach the cause of any object (in this case, a divine being) through the means of radiocarbon-dating.

But, if my seemingly-unending trek through the deepest corners of the Parato region were in fact caused by the “accidental experiment” that took place four Thursdays ago, then what my teacher said might be right after all. I'm about to enter through what many call the “Tunnel of Nothingness”, where experts predict the queen has been lying in constant slumber. Of course, she isn't exactly “God”, but with her great authority and a rumored abnormality similar to my own, I might be able to find him in the process of whatever hullabaloo I get done in there.

And, if I can imagine you're opinion of my life correctly, then you'd probably be wondering what exactly this “accidental” experiment is. Well, to make a long story short, two chemicals mixed together and made an explosion near me, and I haven't been the same since. I'd love to leave it at that, but it's those two chemicals that affect not just mine, but everyone's life in Parato nowadays.

On one side, there's terrasome (not to be confused with seratonin; that's a molecule of exactly five of these terrasome atoms put together), a substance that, in your world, would have the contents that you would best compare to a divine light; for most, terrasome heals them, and it's being used for basically everything in Parato now; from medicine to machinery to fabric softener.

On the other, there's the exact opposite of it, Raydark. There isn't really much you can say about this stuff; it's just the exact opposite of Terrasome.

Now, back to the accident. When they mixed and created the explosion, it wasn't like you'd imagine it to be; both Terrasome and Raydark use a different kind of energy, so not much was significantly harmed in the process.

Except for my senses. In fact, everything else about me was fine, except for one thing: It seemed that terrasome, the one substance that everyone around me was in love with, had become something I was actually allergic to, and I could only stay around it for a few hours of the day.

Let me end my “little flashback” here: For the past several weeks, I've tried everything you could imagine to try to stop this allergy (since, of course, I don't wanna become a vampire or something creepy like that). With my expertise in science, I fiddled with all sorts of chemicals and devices, but nothing worked. I had a little gadget that would tell me where my “fate” was, and I tried to follow that, but it eventually died out. Now, after the tragic death of the prince of Parato, it got repaired, and it's telling me that a great event is to happen in this tunnel.

As I enter this dark hole, I expected to feel a sense of instant pain, but the feeling I received was radically different; the terrasome that poisoned me so bad was nowhere in sensory view, yet I didn't have to be tempted with the evil-yet-delightful smell of Raydark.

_______________
That's everything I have written so far. Should I continue it, or try to think of something else?
