The Battle

This is my first story, enjoy guys. Sorry but the title isn't very descriptive of this story, I can't really think of a good one without giving too much away.

Section 1:

Falling. I must have done it thousands of times by now, but somehow, this fall was different.
What do I do now? I thought to myself, I mean there was no one around. Speaking of which, I should probably try to stop plummeting to my death. I looked at the wall of the tube I was in.
Perhaps if I just move a bit closer.... Got it! Ugg, this wall is too slippery, I can't do much but push myself back to the middle.
Oh here we go, a bright light, must be at the end.

Section 2:

The tunnel was closing in on me, Reaching out to the other side, I was able to stop right before the opening. Trying to calm my breathing, I took a listen:

???: "Shouldn't he be here by now?"

???2: "Yeah probably... careful what you say, he might be able to hear way up there."

???: "Mhmm, well we'll just wait for the bo- wait, do you hear something?"

I stopped breathing

???2: "Better check the tube maybe?"

???: "Yeah, let me just take a look here...."

Great, I didn't have much time.
Lets see here, I can get the drop on them, but what if they're friendly? Oh I don't know what to do!
I decided I would drop out fighting if I saw any hint of a weapon. It didn't take long before I saw a steel helmet. Uh-oh.

Guard One: "He's here! Open the tube!"

*click* *beep*

Woah. I fell onto my feet and got ready to fight, when a third figure, shorter than the other two, entered the room. Two I could take, I was a fighter, but three? Well, this should be interesting.
I put on my hat and said the only thing I could think of...

"It'sa me, Mario!"

Time to fight.

Maybe. *shrug* I thought it was short too, but it's a good place to end plot-wise. Maybe I just need to add more detail, I'll keep that in mind if the next one is short.

Section 3:

Punch. Kick. Toss. One guard on his back, that was almost too easy.
Now for the second; I got ready as he charged at me. I threw a fireball at him, but the first guard tackled me from behind. Another fireball got him off.

Something was missing... I sneaked a glance in the corner and the hooded guy was just... watching? Well, one less person to fight.

Both guards charging me now, I jumped.
Crash... They actually ran into each other. Not too bright, are they?
I tossed a few fireballs in their direction, and they came at me again.

I always wondered why they never catch fire, it should would make this a ton easier.
The guard caught their breath and were back on me, the first swung high; the second low. Thank goodness for shield guard. One of my signature spins had both of them against a wall.... except one hit a switch.

Fwoosh! A secret door opened with.... 5 guards!

???: Enough.

All the guards suddenly backed off. Mr. Hood must mean business.

Mario: Well, you want a piece of me or not?

???: No. It is time for your next challenge.

He backed out a sliding door; I followed.

Section 4:

I walked up to... some sort of shaft. I caught a glimpse of the hooded guy using rockets to fly up it. I stood at the bottom and looked up, only to see him looking down at me.

Well, not much to do now but follow.

Left, right, left, right.... I made it to the top, though I felt kind of dizzy. Suddenly, I felt a bump on my back and I was falling... again!

Left, right, left, right.... Still dizzy, but this time I was expecting him. After turning my back for a split second, I fired a fireball behind me; direct hit! Interestingly, it seemed to have kept him at bay, though he'd have to be very weak to succumb to one fireball. Either way, I sat down to regain my bearings, and then I saw him. He wasn't hurt at all.... He was waiting for me.

???: Ready?
