new banner, same contest!


It's back: That's right. Our official signature of the month contest is back and, surprise, I'll be the one hosting it from now on! Nothing has been changed drastically, just a couple of adjustments in the rules here and there. Read on.

Theme 'Stock vs. Render': You may use whatever style you want, the catch here is that you can only use the images I supplied for you. These will be a stock of a man and a Samus render. Choose whichever you like best. You can even make two sigs using the same render to try out different styles! It's all up to you. Just use one of the two following images:

Deadline: The contest will last throughout the month of November. Entries must be in by the end of NOVEMBER 30th.

Rules/Guidelines:
  • Don't post work you did not make yourself; this includes the usage of tutorials/guides.
  • Always post new material. A whole month is more than enough time to make a new signature.
  • Stick to the theme.
  • You may enter up to two signatures.
  • Entries are allowed to be edited. Just do so before the set deadline.
  • Your entry should not exceed 530 by 180 px. (The other way around for vertical sigs)
Those who do not follow these rules will face:
  1. Single entry or both entries disqualified
  2. Automatic disqualification for the following month's contest
  3. Possible temporary ban from the forums (1 week)
Judging: The winner will be chosen by me and, if needed, a select group of other judges. As a prize you'll receive the prestigious SotM award and a lifetime of bragging rights!

I will be judging based on various categories such as:
  • Text
  • Background
  • Render/Balance
  • Misc. (border, and any other additional effects)
These aspects, among others, will be important in your signature, so think about flow, composition, styles and more. The whole purpose of this contest is to help improve the quality of sigs here. Take your time making it, and try out new things. You have two entries right? So might as well experiment a bit =D
