Toxicroak @ Focus Sash
Adamant Nature
Ability: Dry Skin
EV's: ATK 252 / 6 DEF / 252 Speed
Fake Out
Cross Chop
Sucker Punch
Counter

My favorite lead of all time. This lead is the most unexpected and normally causes me deafet 1-2 Pokes, because Toxicroak is not known for this. Fake Out is eliminating other sash users and preventing them go first. Cross Chop is for STAB. Sucker Punch is for finishing off faster Pokemon (Ghost / Psychic). Toxicroak is somewhat frail even with a +atk nature, so when you predict a strong physical attack coming in you can deal major damage back and Toxicroak will stay alive thanks to Focus Sash.

Rotom-H
Bold Nature
EV's: 252 HP / 168 DEF / 88 SPE
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Hidden Power Ground
Will-O-Wisp

Bulky Rotom are currently the best rapid spin blockers to date. Due to the fact that Ghost/Electric combo basically hits neutral on everything makes Rotom a hard to counter Pokemon. Shadow Ball and Thunderbolt provide STAB. When people see a Rotom-H they will always expect it to have Overheat. Well I think its a little to Overused and as a replacement I am using Hidden Power Ground, because of what Overheat can do can be done easily with Rotom-H STAB moves. I think of it this way, since Scizor and Forrertress obviously can't do anything to Rotom-H is it really needed to run Overheat? I believe Thunderbolt 2-3 KOing them is good enough while Rotom completely walls all there blows after they take in a burn from Will-O-Wisp. Basically the sole purpose of HP Ground is to take care of incoming Heatran, now I know it won't OHKO so I'll need to make a spread that can KO it.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
EV's: 252 HP / 216 DEF / 40 SPE
Grass Knot
Hidden Power Fire
Leech Seed
Recover

Celebi is a beast when using a defensive spread. Grass Knot is for STAB. Hidden Power Fire can 2HKO Scizor and I believe OHKO Forretress. Leech Seed causes a lot of switchouts. Recover keeps Celebi alive for a long time.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Naive Nature
EV's: 6 ATK / 252 Sp.ATK / 252 SPE
Fire Blast
EarthPower
Dragon Pulse
Explosion

ChoiceScarfTran is monster knowing that it can outspeed any non-scarfed / speed boosted Pokemon in today's metagame. Fire Blast is for STAB. EarthPower is good against opposing Fire Types and OHKOing Heatran. Dragon Pulse is for coverage against Dragons. When you feel that Heatran can't do much more, now its time for the final attempt EXPLOSION, I will often use this on Latias since Heatran is stopped otherwise and is forced to switch.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant Nature
Ability: Technician
EV's: 248 HP / 252 ATK / 8 Speed
Bullet Punch
U-Turn
Superpower
Pursuit

Scizor is the most Overused Pokemon in todays metagame, because of STAB Bullet Punch with a ability that functions with it and it basically nails any frail Pokemon. STAB U-Turn that can scout and rip through teams. Superpower can OHKO Blissey. Pursuit functions with Technician and is perfect for frail Psychic Types. Scizor not only makes a good sweeper, but also a great switch in for many Pokemon.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Impish Nature
EV's: 252 HP / 6 ATK / 252 DEF
Avalanche
Earthquake
Stealth Rock
Roar

Swampert is a top used bulky water, because of its great movepool. Avalanche is used against flying types and can KO Dragons with ease since most of them are 4x weak to ice. Earthquake is for STAB. Stealth Rock makes it harder for the opponent to switch out and works great with roar. As for Roar it shuffles the opponents team and can prevent a brutal setup.

Well this is it, please rate and give suggestions in-depth. :mischievous:

Yo whats good homies? I came up with this team a few hours ago and have been spending the past three or so hours trying to make it as good as can be....

Yo whats good homies? I came up with this team a few hours ago and have been spending the past three or so hours trying to make it as good as can be.

Pokemon: Staraptor, Infernape, Lucario, Starmie, Genagar, Salamence

As the title and line-up suggest, the focus of this team is on hitting fast and hitting hard. Without further ado, I'm going to start because I've 'some plaining to do'.

Staraptor @ choice band
Ability: Intimidate

252 ATk/232 SPD/26 HP
Jolly (SPD up, SATK down)
HP/ATK/DEF/SATK/SDEF/SPD

^317/339/176/122/136/323

Close combat
Brave bird
U-turn
pursuit

This is a standard 'Raptor lead set, albeit with a couple of changes. Close combat is for simply giving him a strong move at his disposal. Brave bird is for the same purpose, plus STAB. U-Turn is for providing a quick escape from threats such as metagross (w/ thunder/icepunch), tyranitar (w/ thunder/ice punch, ice beam, or stone edge), and swampert (w/ ice beam or stone edge). Other than that, it's a pretty standard set. The 26 HP EVs eable him to switch into five stealth rocks (which take away 25% HP per switch-in; the nearest multiple of four is 316, which should allow him to live with 1 HP)

Starmie @ expert belt/choice specs
Ability: Natural Cure

Timid (SPEED UP, ATK down)
252 SATK/252 SPD/6 HP

^263/167/206/299/206/360

Thunderbolt/thunder
Surf/hydro pump
Rapid spin
Psychic/Ice beam

The special sweeper and the core around which the team revolves around. This is a somewhat standard non-choice attacker. Thunderbolt is for water types such as empoleon and gyarados. Surf is for STAB (I left out hydro pump because I didn't like it's accuracy) as is psychic. Rapid spin is there because I REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALY hate stealth rocks and all attacks like it; I plan to pit starmie against a pokemon that would run from it, using rapid spin during the switch if need be. Ice beam is for dealing with the likes of Salamence and Celebi.

Infernape @ life orb/expert belt/muscle band
Ability: Blaze

Naive (SPEED up, SDEF down)
252 ATk/228 SPD/30 HP

^300/307/178/244/160/339

Swords Dance/Earthquake
Flare blitz
Close Combat
U-turn/earthquake

The physical sweeper. The plan is Pit him against a foe he will scare off (such as blissey) and swords dance during the switch. Combined with life orb, I was thinking the not much could oppose him, lest they be something faster than him such as starmie or gengar. Flare blitz is for stab, as is Close combat. U-Turn serves the same purpose as for staraptor: escaping the likes of starmie. Earthquake is for combating rock types such as tyranitar. Still trying to find a use for it really.

Jolteon @ shuca berry
Ability: Volt Absorb

Modest (SATK up, ATK down)
252 SATK/216 SPD/ 26 HP/16 SDEF

^277/149/156/350/230/350

Thunder Wave
Thunderbolt
Wish
HP ICE/HP Grass

The secondary sweeper and supporter. Thunder wave is for crippling fast foes such as starmie and gengar as well as Swift Swimmed Kingdra. Thunderbolt is STAB. wish is for healing the likes of Staraptor should he incur stealth rock damage. HP grass is for taking down pokemon such as swampert as well as the likes of tyranitar. HP ICE is for taking down dragons such as Salamence and flygon

Salamence @ life orb/yache berry
Ability: Intimidate

Naive (SPEED up, SDEF down)
62 ATK/196 SATK/232 SPD

^331/321/196/310/176/323

Draco Meteor
Fire blast
Brick break
crunch/roost/earthquake

Classic Mixmence set, with a few changes. As I've said earlier, the focus of this team is on speed, but the rash nature suggested by smogon for this set lowers speed and I can't have that, hence why I've given it the above EV spread (though it doing so, he now can't take a special hit worth a damn). I also need help fitting earthquake here. I was thinking about replacing brick break with it so as to combat fire and steel types that oppose it (mostly fire types), falling back on fire blast for dealing with ice types (but then, I'd have no physical defenses against Tyranitars other than infernape and staraptor). Draco Meteor is both for STAB, and for pummeling the enemy early on. Crunch is for aiding Gengar in taking down ghost and psychic types. Roost is for extending his life span (especially when stealth rock is in play).

Gengar @ focus sash/choice specs
Ability: Levitate

Timid (SATK up, ATK down)
252 SATK/252 SPD/6 HP

^262/149/156/359/186/350

Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Energy Ball
will-o-wisp/HP ICE

The above EV spread is for giving gengar max sweeping potential with his given nature. Shadow Ball is STAB. HP Ice is for helping jolteon take down dragon types such as flygon and Salamence. Energy ball is for taking down water tpyes that resist starmie and jolteon's thunderbolt, such as swampert. Will-o-wisp is for crippling foes such as Tyranitar and scizor. Focus Blast is for dealing with rock, normal and steel types such as tyranitar, lucario, and blissey.

After reviewing my team's weaknesses on marriland, I learned that two of my pokemon have a weakness to rock, with no one to resist it. For that reason, I've been considering the below pokemon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lucario @ Life orb
Ability: inner focus

Jolly (SPD up, SATK down)
252 ATk/252 SPD/6 HP

^282/319/176/239/176/306

Stone Edge/earthquake
ExtremeSpeed
Crunch
Swords Dance

Nothing really out of the ordinary. Stone edge is for taking on the likes of Staraptor and Gyrados. Earthquake is for combating fire types such as infernape. Crunch is for aiding gengar in taking down psychic and ghost types. Swords dance is for boosting the power of his attacks. Extremespeed is just there for fillerr.

Lucario @ Life orb/wise glasses
Ability: Inner Focus

Timid (SPD up, ATK down)
252 SPD/252 ATK/6 HP

^282/230/176/329/176/306

Aura Sphere
Dark Pulse
Dragon Pulse
Focus blast

Aura sphere is for STAB. Dark pulse is for aiding gengar in taking down psychic and ghost types such as starmie and dusknoir, respectively. Dragon pulses for aiding gengar and jolteon in taking down dragons types, with this move in particular being able to deal with the likes of Kingdra. Focus blast is for taking on the likes of tyranitar and blissey (though the latter is going to be hard)

***I've been considering replacing Salamence, Gengar, or Staraptor with Lucario such as to give my team a resistance to rock attacks such as stone edge, which is deadly against my Salamece and Staraptor. This is where you guys come in, should I find a spot for Lucario or no? Is so, where would he fit?***

Bear with me, as this is my first time writing here.

Pokemon: Gengar, Metagross, Infernape, Lucario, Electivire, and Starmie

The following...

Bear with me, as this is my first time writing here.

Pokemon: Gengar, Metagross, Infernape, Lucario, Electivire, and Starmie

The following pokemon either were given to me in a trade, or were made/caught so long ago that I don't know their EV spreads (back when I didn't know what an IV battle was). In this case, I'm going to list their stats instead of the EVs.

level 100 Gengar (lead) @ Lum berry
Levitate
Timid (SPEED up, ATK down)

251/131/153/359/178/349

Shadow Ball
HP ICE
Energy ball
Focus blast

Shadow ball is STAB. Focus blast is for combating fighting types while also giving him a powerful move. Energy ball is for water and ground types that threaten my team members. HP is for grass and flying types who oppose him.

In addition, Gengar can cover Starmie's weakness to bug and grass attacks and half the team's weakness to ground.
level 100 Metagross @ Occa berry

Quirky (neutral; no buff/debuff)
Clear Body
314/301/300/249/216/176

Meteor Mash
Agility
Earthquake
Explosion

It's pretty obvious what the plan is for him. Pit him against an opponent that would subsequently switch out, using agility during the switch and letting loose. Meteor Mash is for STAB. Earthquake is for combating fire types. Finally, Explosion is a last resort.

In addition, Metagross can cover Starmie's weakness to grass

level 91 Infernape @ life orb
Flash Fire
Impish (DEF up, SATK down)

263/215/177/203/185/230

Flamethrower
thunderounch
shadowclaw
Close combat

Flamethrower and close combat are for STAB. Thunderpunch is for combating water types, who I assume to be the most likely counter to a fire type. Shadow claw is for combating psychic, who I assume to the most likely counter to a fighting type.

In addition, Infernape can cover metagross' weakness to fire by taking fire attacks and can cover gengar and starmie's weakness to dark moves.

**I gave Infernape a life orb because he's weak (and not very fast to boot) due to poor IVs. Any replacements i could use?**

Level 100 Electivire
@ shuca berry

Motor Drive
Adamant (ATK up, SATK down)

300/323/223/198/186/222

Cross chop
Thunderpunch
Ice Punch
Earthquake

Thunderpunch is STAB. Ice punch is for combating Ice types (that are resistant to special attacks). Earthquake for combating other electric types as well as steel types such as magnezone. Cross chop is just filler

In addition, Electivire can cover Starmie's weakness to electric attacks while also gaining a boost in speed. She can also cover infernape's weakness to flying attacks.
Level 100 Lucario @ focus sash
Steadfast

279/289/174/294/158/304
Naive (SPEED up, SDEF down)

Close combat
Swords dance
Earthquake
Extremespeed

Close combat is for STAB. Swords dance is to be used in conjunction with the focus sash to enable him to get at least one off before he faints. Extremespeed helps him get one attack in before he faints. Earthquake is filler.

In addition, Lucario can also cover starmie and gengar's weakness to ghost and dark (it'll cost him use of the focus though).

**Since his ATk and SATk are close and they're pretty high, I was thinking about making him a mixed sweeper. Should I? Or should I make him a physical/special sweeper?**

Level 100 Starmie @ Leftovers
Natural Cure

262/155/204/299/204/361

Timid (SPEED up, ATK down)

Rapid spin
Thunder
Surf
Psychic

Surf and Psychic are for STAB. Thunder is for combating other water types as well as flying types such as Staraptor. Rapid spin is for clearing away items such as stealth rocks and spikes.

In addtion, Starmie can cover infernape and gengar's weakness to psychic attacks.

Well there you have it. Review away. Pay particular attention to the typing of each member.

You see, there's one major flaw in my team: four of them have an aversion to ground moves. Yes, I have starmie and Gengar (mostly Gengar) to combat ground type, but what if they go down? Then what? That's where you guys come in. The only pokemon that can successfully counter ground types is gengar due it "levitate" ability. (Starmie can achieve a similar result with surf and a higher speed but that's besides the point)

I've been contemplating replacing infernape with moltres so as to make my team half special, half physical as well as remove one ground weakness from the team. And I was going to use starmie to blow away any stealth rocks in play so as to not put Moltres at risk. What do you guys think?

***I only use pokemon like Infernape because he's was one of only fast fire type pokemon at my disposal but due to his poor IVs, he's extremely weak. Otherwise, I would've been using a better pokemon.**

Since HGSS introduced Gravity to a slew of more Pokemon, I figured I'd take advantage of it. However, since there was a fine line between stall and sweeping with this set, it was fairly difficult to come up with a good set. I asked Jak and he helped me out considerably. So without further ado, the Collab Gravity team!

Jirachi@Leftovers
Serene Grace
Naive
80 HP /252 Atk /176 Speed
-Thunder
-Stealth Rock
-Iron Head
-Gravity

I took the EVs from the Lead Jirachi set that was recommended. Gravity the first turn, Thunder the second, SR the third and annoy until the cows come home. Thunder allows Jirachi to deal damage AND paralyze at the same time (the prime point being mainly the paralysis, but the damage done can be extremely helpful as well).

Bronzong@Light Clay
Heat-Proof
Relaxed
252 HP/ 152 Atk/ 8 Def/ 96 SpD
0 Speed IVs
-Gravity
-Light Screen
-Reflect
-Gyro Ball

Bronzong's placement here is somewhat odd. It comes in whenever it can to set up the Screens and then leaves, while also using Gravity if need be. I had considered using Levitate as a means of helping out with the Ground weakness a bit on the off-chance Gravity wore off, but I figured I might as well go for broque and keep it up period.

Heatran@Salac Berry
Flash Fire
Timid
252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed/6 DEF
-Dragon Pulse
-Substitute
-Magma Storm
-Earth Power

Comes in when Screens are up, Subs, and then traps the enemy with Magma Storm then wears'em down with Earth Power. I lose the ability to Burn the foe, but if Heatran comes out in the late game with several Toxic Spikes layed down, Magma Storm can spell doom, especially if they're locked into their attack (come in on an Outrage and then Magma Storm them and pelt'em with Dragon Pulse, the damage from poison, possibly bad poison, MS, and DP will add up a lot in a short period of time).

Starmie@Expert Belt
Natural Cure
Timid
252 Speed/252 Sp. Attack
-Hydro Pump
-Thunder
-Blizzard
-HP Fire ?

Starmie. I love this thing, I really do. It has so much potential and yet it has enough flaws to let it sit perfectly in the OU. Since Gravity should still be in effect when Starmie comes to play, Thunder, Blizzard, and Hydro Pump should all hit for perfect accuracy, and hit everything barring Lanturn for SE damage or regular.

Forretress@Shed Shell
Sturdy
Relaxed (speed-/Def+)
252 HP/200 Def/56 Atk
-Gravity
-EQ
-Toxic Spikes
-Rapid Spin

I'll admit it, I hate Forretress, I really do. It has a 4x weakness to one of the most common types in the game and is incredibly slow. Unlike Scizor, it also doesn't pack a huge punch nor the ability to sweep like a mad bull. However, this particular Forretress set does everything possible in one go. It can Spin away terrain, set up Gravity, and since Steel and Poison types are immune to Toxic Spikes, EQ also checks them, so while Gengar may end up soaking up a Toxic Spikes that I layed down, I can use EQ to send it to the grave along with every other Steel type in the game. On the off-chance Magnezone shows up, I also want to be able to get the heck out of there and actually lead in with a possible counter with Porygon2.

Porygon2@Leftovers
Trace
Calm
252 HP / 120 Sp. Def / 136 SpA
-Thunder
-Gravity
-Recover
-Blizzard/HP Fire?

To avoid having too many Ground weakness' (I'm already pushing 3 with one being the lead and another having the ability be useless with Gravity in effect), I threw in Porygon2. Trace allows it to copy the ability of many Pokes who have a decent one I could use (like Heatran's Flash Fire, Intimidate, and so on) and even provide something of a stall if need be. I think HP Fire would be better over Blizzard so that if Magnezone is out, I can send in Porygon2 and lock them in with their own ability, then HP Fire them to death.

Well, that's the team. I know there's a giant, gapping Ground weakness in there, but I honestly have no choice. If I get rid of Bronzong, I HAVE to replace it with Dusknoir, and Jirachi can't move out from being the lead. Heatran could be switched out but the question then is with what? With Gravity in effect, the main purpose is to increase the accuracy of my attacks, so anything with a huge amount of power but little accuracy is perfectly usable.

OK. I have been trying to build a team for a while now and think I might have found one that might work. There are a few that I am not sure about but I selected them because of team strengths and weaknesses to certain attacks.

Rosarade - Lead
Timid - Focus Sash
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Sleep Powder
Toxic Spikes
Leaf Storm
HP(Fire)

Pretty much using her because of Type Coverages. Plus the bonus of putting someone to sleep. Toxic Spikes mainly for Blissey who I think could be a problem for this team.

Gengar - Spec Sweeper
Modest - Choice Scarf
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
HP(Ice)
Trick

Revenge Killer until I wish to try and sweep at the end or give off Choice Scarf to opponite.

Zapdos - Baton Passer
Quirky - Leftovers
248 HP / 136 Def / 48 SpA / 76 Spe
Agility
Baton Pass
Thunderbolt
HP(Grass)-63

First half of the one two punch of this group. Zapdos uses Agility then either uses it himself for a while or Baton Passes to Lucario. EV spreed is not normal because I got really bad Speed IVs.

Lucario - Phys Sweeper
Adamant - Expert Belt - Inner Focus
252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spe
Sword Dance
Close Combat
Thunder Punch
Ice Punch

Main Focus of the team get the Agility from Zapdos then Sword Dance and try for a sweep.

Tyranitar - Def Wall
Quiet - Leftovers
252 HP / 52 Atk / 176 SpA / 28 Spe
Substitute
Focus Punch
Dark Pulse
Flamethrower

Not sure if he is a good fit but I need a defensive Pokemon and could not come up with one that did not add too many weaknesses that I already had. Basically I have 2 fire weaknesses and a couple of fighting so couldn't use steel. Plus have 2 ice weaknesses so could not use ground.

Vaporeon - Spec Wall
Bold - Leftovers
188 HP / 252 Def / 68 Spe
Surf
HP(Electric)
Wish
Protect

Good Special Wall and can come in on Salamence or Gyrados. Plus the bonus of possible Wish Pass.

Thank you for your time and will wait for your response.

- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Earthquake
- Bullet Punch

I figured for a Dragon/Steel team, Metagross would be a fine lead. It was either that or Jirachi, and I picked Metagross for this set. I gave it 16 Speed EVs to outspeed other Gross leads, that is all the extra Speed EVs are there for. This lead also beats out Roserade via Lum Berry. Roserade goes for the Sleep Powder, miss or hit, doesn't matter, EQ almost takes it out, then BP will take it out. This also beats out Smeargle with Spore, same situation with Roserade. Explosion is just there for, yeah, lots of damage.
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Speed
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SpAtk) / Naughty (+Atk, -SpDef) (If using Fire Blast)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge / Fire Blast

This is basically just a standard ScarfFlygon. I usually send this in after I explode with Metagross because I can see what my opponent sends in and U-Turn out fast for a counter. Nothing much to really explain.

Team Sync:
Ice: Metagross, Scizor, Empoleon.
Dragon: Metagross, Scizor, Empoleon.
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SpAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

I put 12 Speed EVs on this to outspeed other CBScizors, other then that, it's pretty much standard. This also makes a great U-Turning partner with Flygon, they take each other's weaknesses great.

Team Sync:
Fire: Flygon, Latias, Salamence.
EVs: 6 HP/252 SpAtk/252 Speed
Timid nature (+Speed, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

This set is great for revenge killing since not everybody expects ScarfLatias, sure, some do and some don't. This team also needed some speed, since the only faster thing on this team is Flygon and Metagross' and Scizor's BP. Trick is awesome for screwing up your opponent's walls and such. The set is pretty much standard, not much else to say.

Team Sync:
EVs: 252 HP/180 Def/76 Speed
Jolly nature (+Speed, -SpAtk)
- Wish
- Toxic
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake

Here's something you don't see everyday, WishMence. I needed something that can take hits and heal up, and maybe induce some Toxic to help me along the way. After using this, I realized that I needed a Lucario counter, and this works perfectly for one. These 76 Speed EVs + Jolly outspeeds Adamant Lucario then I can EQ Lucario for the KO. This can also work for a Scizor counter, so yeah. And since this team is built around the typing, this team would be switching alot, taking damage, so Wish is great for that. All though, SR could take a toll on Salamence. Besides all that, the other candidates for this spot were DDMence, MixMence and RestoChestoDDKingdra, but like I said, I needed a good Lucario counter.

Team Sync:
EVs: 12 HP/12 Def/252 SpAtk/232 Speed
Modest nature (+SpAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Agility
- Surf / Hydro Pump
- Grass Knot

This is what started this team off. I wanted to use this Pokemon and I figured, well, lets make this team a Dragon / Steel team. This is where my late game starts, or if I see an opening earlier, I can set it up and hope for something good to happen. I like to use Hydro Pump over Surf just because of the sheer power it has. I chose Grass Knot over Ice Beam because I figured that if it came down to it, Grass Knot would be better since bulky waters can still be around and Empoleon would have more trouble with those.

Team Sync:
Electric: Flygon, Latias.
Ground: Flygon, Latias, Salamence.
Fighting: Latias, Salamence.

Ok I have been fiddling with some others to replace some members in my team so here goes

Lead----
Dragonite@Life Orb
Evs: 252 Att/ 252 SpA / 4...

Ok I have been fiddling with some others to replace some members in my team so here goes

Lead----
Dragonite@Life Orb
Evs: 252 Att/ 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Nature: Quiet
Abil: Inner Focus
-Extremespeed
-Fire Blast
-Earthquake
-Draco Meteor

I like this as a lead due to the fact that it can counter a lot of the common leads in OU. Most of the steel type leads are OHKO by EQ, I can 2HKO Hippowdown and Swampert, and can possibly OHKO Azelf and Areodactyl with draco meteor. Jirachi, Infernaoe and all of the other fake out leads will fear this guy because he can't be flinched. And those guys require flinching for their strategies to work. I really only have to fear Weavle and Mamoswine as leads because they will outspeed me and can have STAB ice moves. Bleh.... however, those are not too common of leads so no worries, much.... I also like this guy because I can use him as a revenge killer later on. Those 4 speed Evs allow me to outspeed a 0 speed Evs Metagross adn deal some nice damage to him. This guy can also counter some of the counters for my other guys but i'll get to that later.

Foretress@Shed shell
Nature: Relaxed
Evs: 252 HP / 112 Atk / 144 Def
Abil: Sturdy
-Toxic Spikes
-Gyro Ball
-Rapid Spin
-Explosion/ stealth rock

In order to use my dragonite effectively, I need to remove stealth rock. Hence Froetress comes in. The only thing I need to fear with this guy is fear itself. Or the occasional stupid magnezone that decides to ruin my fun. Idea is simple, toxic spike on the start depending on what i switched into or rapid spin away entries. This is a counter for those 2 ice leads i mentioned before. Gyro ball can take care of both of them. I chose to use toxic spikes rather than normal spikes because I am seeing a gain in the number of flame orb abusers. Sure I still give them their boost, but they will faint quicker by badly poison than by the burn. I might change explosion to stealth rock because if I get hit by a SpA fire move I am dead anyways. I need to test him out first though. Magnezone can hurt me a lot because of the ability, however thats where my dragonite comes in. If magnezone decides to stay, its gets a nice kick in the pants. If it uses HP Fire, it gets shaked to death. If it uses magnet rise, it gets burned. Either way, it gets owned unless it switches. Any other fire type will get shaked to death if it doesn't switch. If people start telling me to not use Gyro ball due to its riskyness with slow guys, I will change it to spikes for the upcoming reason. ATM Gyro ball wil stay on the list.

Dusknoir@Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Abil: Pressure
-GRAVITY
-Dynamic Punch
-pain split
-earthquake/shadow sneak

Little something I like to call a fake wall. A lot of the Dusknoirs in OU carry the standard tank set. Gravity is this guys main difference. I like gravity due to its accuracy change for all moves. If I get a lot of entry hazards set up, then its all down hill from there. Switch in to Dusknoir and change the force of gravity to my favor. Under gravity, all pokes on the opponents side will be hit for spike damage(if i use) and toxic damage(if its not poison typed). Not to pretty for the opponent I say. The other good thing about gravity is that all moves with accuracy 60 or more are now hit 100 percent guarenteed or your money back:happy: Dynamic punch gets an 82% chance to hit and for certain will cause confusion. The will hopefully force the opponent to switch or be hit. If he doesn't switch he gets hit with EQ or Shadow Sneak. If he does, the the next one will get hit with toxic poison and spike damage(if I use) and Stealth Rock damage. Ouch....
Thankfully this also can block spinners to keep my entry hazards intact. Pain split to heal damage obviously. The last move I am a little iffy on because of the toxic spike thing. If any poison poke comes out, toxic spikes go bye bye:sad: However, if I use EQ I can hit them. Big issue is that the only poison one that I can hurt badly with EQ is tenacruel. Gengar and Roserade are resistant to it somewhat. Hence the reason why I thought of shadow sneak. I need some inputs on that.

Porygon Z@ Life Orb
Nature: Modest
Abil: Adaptability
Evs: 252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 Hp
IVs: 31/31/31/31/31/31
-Nasty Plot
-Tri Attack
-Thunderbolt
-Dark Pulse

I want to use this in my team because it can scare off a few pokes. I do have a major issue with gyarados if it shows up in the late game. So I needed some kind of electric type or poke that can use electric types efficiently. First thing that came to mind was this handy guy. If I can switch into something safely, or send this out as a revenge killer this guy wil be a little tough to handle. Just one nasty plot wil send my SpA stat to 808 not accounting for life orb or the STAB modifier of tri attack. Obivously, its good night for anything not named blissey that gets hit by this guy. I hope that this guy will be able to scare of gyarados because most, if not all, carry thunderbolt in their moves. I might change the item to choice specs and replace Nasty plot for something else. Chioce spec is so that I don't waste a turn setting up a NP. Now since gravity is up, I might use Hyper Beam for a certain OHKO on most guys.

Lucario@Choice Spec
Abil: Inner Focus
Evs: 252 SpA/ 252 Spe / 4 hp
Nature: Timid
-Aura Sphere
-Vacume Wave
-Dark Pulse
-Dragon Pulse

Special Lucarios are beastly at this point in time. Most people have seen too many physical Lucarios and will hopfully assume that I have one as well. Most pokes that will come into a fight type poke will be more physically defensive. Therefore a nice fight move from the special side will be painfull to them. This guy can counter my dragonite's dragon, ice, and rock problems and hit them hard from the special side. It can cover Dusknoir's Ghost and Dark problems with ease. Unfortunatly it can't defend against a fire move or its own type. Fortunatly, Dusknoir can handle the fight problem and Dragonite the ground issue(I am assuming that gravity is done with on the field,if it isn't then Foretress). Any psychic or ghost that comes in to wall me will get screwed up by my dark pulse. I might get a HP move on there if it turns out to be Rock/Electric(if only)/ or ice to take care of those flying counters like Gyarados or Gliscor.

I have a fire problem with this team and I see it plainly. The only two fire counters that might work for this team are swampert and Heatran. I am leaning more to swampert due to its one weakness that I already have covered (dragonite and grass) rather than Heatran. Heatran adds to my ground problem which I really don't want to amplify because I have no true reliable counter. I will assume that Heatran is going to be a major issue, but I don't want to run a Heatran because I really can't get a max speed one for certain and in case of a tie for speed, knowing my luck I will lose anyways. Bulky water types are what I want to use, but I really don't know which one is the most reliable. Picked Swampert for STAB EQ and water moves as well as access to a certain move that can cripple the walls on this guy. Heres what I was planning on running

Swampert@shell bell/leftovers
Nature:Careful/ adamant
Abil: Torrent
Evs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 SpD
-Curse
-Earthquake
-Waterfall
-Outrage

My strategy went something like this:
I can switch into something that will fear this guy and curse on the switch. Most likely it will be a dragon poke or Gyarados. This is where I pull a curve on them and hit them with outrage, hard. Then the opponent will switch into some kind of steel type or dragon resistor if I didn't KO the poke the first go around. After I am unlocked from the move switch to the counter for the current poke adn battle normaly.

I know that swampert is kinda iffy but I really don't know what to put in its place or what to change it to to counter Heatran. Any advise will be helpful

Since we've had this forum up, I've seen Rate My Team's come and go without users really putting much thought into them, including myself. This workshop is designed to help you build your Rate My Team from the team right down to the format. You can ask us for any sort of help, including and especially in help writing the RMT. We'll help you with descriptions, format, pictures and the actual team. After this program, I hope you will be able to present Friendcodes with an astounding team and format to boot.

Team Help

...................

If you are looking for team help, you must follow the specific format for the degree of help you are searching for, as it helps our assistants a great deal. If you are simply looking for a move to fit a set or a Hidden Power, list your team and just ask what move could work in that spot. If you know every Pokemon you want but only have a few movesets down, post all the sets and Pokemon you are using in a spoiler. If you have only one Pokemon or one specific set in mind, post it and we'll suggest usable partners. Always verify with Smogon before you ask for partners because if you can find the answer on Smogon.com, we don't really need to reiterate it for you. To use Smogon, just seached the name of the Pokemon you have in mind and make sure you read the whole page. They have possible team mates and many sets you can add to your ideas.

These specific members can probably most likely help you in this area and I would definately talk to them before asking anyone else for help

Nolie

Of course, anyone can help but these members can give you the best options and fullest answers. I'll add more members here as I see members giving good help. I ask that if you see a suggestion that you disagree with, don't just talk about why it shouldn't be used but give reasons as to why they should use the set you propose. Absolutely do not suggest any non standard sets unless you've tried them yourselves.

One thing you should do before asking your team to be checked at one of the more advanced stages is to check The Marriland Team Builder for obvious weakness in type or to a specific Pokemon.I cannot stress this step enough. If you've got four weaknesses to the same type without mentioning you want to remove those weaknesses, It'll be pretty obvious that you haven't checked you team in The Marriland Team Builder and we're not willing to give our time to helping you if you aren't going to work at it yourself.

Writing the Rate My Team
.............................................

After you know the exact team you will be using and you are all ready to prepare a RMT, this is the place to be for you. First off, you should know that the standard RMT format would look something like this:

Celebi@Leftovers
252 Hp / 220 Defense / 36 Speed
Bold Nature (+Defense, -Attack)
-Grass Knot
-Thunder Wave
-Recover
-Hidden Power [Fire]

Pretty simple right? You can always make variations with your personal format but if you aren't the creative type this is a great standard.

Pictures seem to be a bit of a problem with the forums. If you think a RMT is only as good as it's team, you're wrong at that point. It's sad to say, but a team that doesn't have a good format despite a great team is probably the one getting ignored. I'm not saying that a flashier RMT with a poor team is better than a modest RMT with a brilliant team, but a good format helps in attracting readers and ultimately rates. To add a picture, click on the icon and a box will appear asking for a url. If you have the URL, just copy paste it into the box and click OK. These are various places to get the URL's for pictures.

Pokemon Elite 2000 - Sprite Resource
Arkeis.com - Pokemon Factory

If you still need help getting a picture in your post, I'd be glad to help you. I'll post the with spaces so be sure to remove the spaces in your post for the picture to show up.

If you need help with descriptions, just post the set and a general overview of the team and what the certain Pokemon does for the team. No descriptions will be suggested without your help and approval.

If you need to write down a team you've used on shoddy but do not want to go through the tedious work here is a shortcut courtesy of Rookie:
How to copy/paste a shoddy team.

1. load up your team in the "edit team" tab so you are in the team builder
2. Click "Tools" and under "Tools" click "export to text"
3. highlight the pokemon and its moveset in the "export to text" box
4. while holding ctrl press c
5. you now have copied your shoddy pokemon

Now that you've got the tools and help you need, you'll have your perfect RMT in no time. Hope we've helped. Happy Writings!
