I honestly don't know what else to name the game. The rules are quite simple, but I get the feeling some might not understand the game very well...or care. Either or. It's just for fun, so hold off from bashing it you jerkweeds. I'll also be the first to admit this is a tremendous waste of time and shows my ultra lack of worthwhile things to do.
The person above will leave a word, and you have to come up with a zany explanation for how the word came to exist. For example, if I said "Internet," the next person would attempt to create an amusing explanation for how this word first started. Like this...
"The Internet started off in the corporate community back in 1980, the world was changing and education and qualifications were beginning to shape the future of people’s careers. Fresh young interns with degrees would land positions in big companies and immediately make their presence known, often humiliating less educated but senior staff. A group of older employees less impressed by the young workers, or so the legend goes, devised multiple traps to make the interns look incompetent. Making a fool out of an intern became known as netting an intern, or intern-netting.
Since the invention of the modern day Internet, many names were thought of for this revolutionary system. When the creators realized the potential for widespread adult content and the amount of distractions this would cause to students using their computers as study aids, they realized they had created a pre-intern net, before the students even had the qualifications to become interns they were stopping them from ever advancing any further in life. Because of this, usually things associated with the Internet also have ‘trap’ related significance, such as web in World Wide Web. This is how the word Internet came into being."
Try to think of words with three syllables or so, this avoids people randomly saying something like "Now" and the next person having nothing to work with. Let’s see if any of you can create such a huge load of pure crap, that it sounds believable.
