I thought the same about Jeter, but the word around the sport sites is that he might be considering following the money... Greedy piece of crap if he is, I wouldn't worry to much if I was NYY though, he'll definately want more money but he's probably going to stay there.
True at the moment NYY doesn't have to worry about payroll but if they keep giving out contracts that are over half the total salary of the Marlins then they might need to start worrying. It be too long untill Many's contract is matched by a NYY player.
Sometimes I wish baseball had sal. caps like football but then again, baseball is the American sport, free market economy for all XD
