maybe this is the wrong place to post this but oh well. is sony trying to have bad sales? or are thay just stupid? in my town the ps3 chosts 660$. tell me...WHAT are thay thinking?! no kid can even think about buying one.

i know how u feel.....nintendo is smarter with their prices. a kid maybe cant afford it right away but they at least have a good chance of being able to get one

theres a HUGE pile of ps3s in my wal-mart, and becuz sony just won't wise-up and lower the price...no one is going to get one.

Well, Sony can't lower their price too much because the blue ray software and other programs cost too much and they can't afford to lose that money.

Not to start a flame war but the PS3 doesn't cost $660 unless it has a game, controller or something else with it. The retail price is $600 for the 60GB.

Another thing is the Nintendo Wii doesn't have as near as many features as the PS3 and thats why its so darn cheap. (Don't get me wrong I'm a hardcore Nintendo fan, that camps out for every new system but thats why the Wii is so cheap and the PS3 is not)

I do agree that the Wii is way more affordable for childeren. The Nintendo Wii is a genious of a system and is specially made, well pretty much, for kids and teens.

NinBoy is right, the wii is cheaper because, I hate to say it.. It's two Gamecube's stuck together with a new look and control. :|

To answer your question in a nice way, Sony's president, Kaz Harai, recieved brain damage from a Giant Enemy Crab bite a few months ago, and he ran off from SCEA, screaming "RIDGE RACER!".

I think they are pretty wise about their prices. The vast majority of their games, pretty much all of them, aare rated T or rated M (Mostly M). Since children don't play many M games, they don't get it. But children also don't have jobs (Unless they live in china or something). Teenagers and adults have jobs. They like playing T and M games, so they greatly prefer the PS3 over the wii, and willingly, and happily (I dunno if they happily xD) pay the price. So they can easily afford a PS3 with their job. Plus since it's lowered $100, kids everywhere are going to be begging their mom's again for a PS3, but tell them the price was lowered, thus convincing their parents.

The wii however is pushed towards kids, who don't have jobs, so they can't afford the PS#, but still like the game selection of not rated M games.

It's kinda all based off age variation.

I think they are doing well for what they have so far. they sell good in my area.

well in my town i think it is 500~600. they could lower it to 250 or 420 dollars. i mean it has bue ray meaning it should be expansive. but i don't think it is becoming stupid.

i know thats why alot of people i know got ps3. also in my twon ps3's were gone in a day and a half. the day they came out bang there gone i am like the only one wit out one:(
