American Accent?

You know how we American's say "Hey, they have a cool British accent" or "I wish I had a cool accent like that Japanese guy"? Do you guys from Britain and Australia and such think Americans have accents?

We do >_>, I hate certain American accents, theres one really annoying one, but I dont know what it's called. Most are good though, and everyone likes the Australian accent :D

The thing I was wondering about is I know what a British accent sounds like or an Austrailian accent, but there are so many American accents, like southern and Jersey and so on that I don't know if I could classify just one as the American accent.

And yes Falcon, Austrailian accents rock.

I was talking to a Brit on a VoIP once, and she absolutely loved my American accent, if that helps at all.

Accents come from heritage and where you grow up.

The reason why the australian accent sounds like British, is because some time ago, Australia was a type of prison for British criminals. That is the reason why. Now, there is no real american accent. America is so huge, the diversity is bigger. There is: New Jersey, Tennesee, Texas, and Californian accents that I can think of. These accents have been formed by the many ancestors whom immigrated there.

usally states have the different accent,missisipi and louisana are different,flordia and hawwaii are different,and texas has the "wild westr accsent

Generally you can't tell your own accent because it sounds natural to you. You may, or may not have it.

Yes Americans do have accents lol. But brits have alot of accents aswell. Depending on where your from. Im from bristol so ill have a bristolian accent. Alot of people say i sound like a farmer >_>. People from liverpool with have a scouser accent ect xD.
