Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town - Cursed Tools Guide

Harvest Moon: Friend’s of Mineral Town (GBA).
    Cursed Tools/Winter Mine Guide

    By: Jag

    Cursed Tools:
These amazing tools are needed to be the best farmer you can be. Cursed Tools, being one step above Mystrile, are two steps below the best tools in the game. You can easily advance the Cursed Tool into a Blessed Tool. Finding the Cursed Tool is the tough part though. Now we must venture into the Lake Mine. The reason they’re called Cursed is because if you equip them, you need to go to church and get them removed by Carter, which costs 1,000G.

    Lake Mine:
Only open in Winter, this mine holds many valuable items, such as Pink Diamonds (worth 10,000G ea), but most importantly, the Cursed Tools. Each Cursed Tool is hidden on certain levels of the Lake Mine, and I’m writing this to give you an advantage. Since you’ll be going through DOZEN’s of floors, your stamina will decrease a lot. For this, you need to bring along some Elli Leaves, or some TurboJolt XL’s- (recommended). When going into the mine, only bring along your Hoe and a Hammer, making room for the tools when you acquire them. The tools will be hidden in the ground.

    Making Elli Leaves:
Being the best food in the game, Elli Leaves return your stamina to 100%, making the Lake Mine a push-over.

    Recipe (Makes One):
    - 4 Bodgizer XL’s
    - 4 TurboJolt XL’s
    - 6 Differently burnt food

Burnt foods tips: Go to your chicken coop and grab 6 feed, then go to your house and use each of the utensils on them. Making 6 differently burnt foods. Then use the burnt foods on the Bodgizers and TurboJolts.

What’s so great about these tools?

Cursed Fishing Rod – Catch all Fish.
Cursed Hoe – Makes a 12x3 Rectangle of land.
Cursed Axe – Cuts all wood matter on the screen.
Cursed Hammer – Smashes more than one boulder at once.
Cursed Watering Can – Waters a 6x13 patch of crops/land.
Cursed Sickle – Cuts a 9x9 patch of grass.

    Where do I find them?

    Lake Mine – Levels

Power Berry – 19 (Not a tool, but helpful)
    Cursed Fishing Rod – 29
    Cursed Hoe – 39
    Cursed Axe – 49
    Cursed Hammer – 59
    Cursed Watering Can – 69
    Cursed Sickle – 79

How am I supposed to get all the way down there!?

Using your TurboJolt’s/Elli Leaves, and a tricky saving method.

    - Step 1: Save on the floor your on without doing anything. (Slot 1)
    - Step 2: Find the stairs & remember its location.
    - Step 3: Load save 1.
    - Step 4: Go to the stairs.
    - *Step 5: Before entering the stairs, Save in Slot 2. (This prevents the next floor from being a dead-end)
    - Step 6: Go down the stairs.
    - Step 7: Repeat.

*If the next floor were to be a dead-end, load save 2.

Ok, I have them. But they’re still cursed and I’m running out of money to get them removed!

Time to make your Cursed Tools into Blessed Tools. Doing so requires random tasks. Each fairly easy.

Cursed Watering Can & Cursed Hoe: Have it removed by Carter 10 times each. (1,000G each time-20,000G total) - Go to church on a rainy day with your Cursed Tools. Between 1pm - 6pm? Carter is in his confessions booth. Go into it and get the tool removed. Re-equip the tool and repeat until it is blessed.

Cursed Hammer & Cursed Sickle: Have it equipped for 10 days straight.

Cursed Axe & Cursed Fishing Pole: Use it 255 times.

Now that I have the best tools, I can start playing the game, right?

No, the Blessed tools aren’t the best. Now you need to go to the Spring mine (open all year) level 60, and dig up some Mythic stones. Take the Mythic stones to the blacksmith and he’ll make them into the best tools in the game for 50,000G each.

    Questions? I'll add them :D.
