There is a way to max out your characters stats.

All you have to do is equip everyone with the monk/black belt (high vitality jobs) class job when available this is because they have high vitality giving you the possibility to get 9999 hp once this is acquired you have to unlock onion knight (details below) and raise the job level to 99 this will make all your stats go up to 99 so you will have 9999 hp and 99 on each stat. Also equiping any onion armour (helmet/armour/gaunlets) makes you imune to all status ailments. Thats how easy it is.

How to unlock Onion Knight

First you will need a local friend with ff3 aswell or wifi. Once you register your friend or friends send 7 mails and receive 7 about anything and also send 4 and receive 4 to topapa. When you receive the 4th mail from topapa it will ask you to go see him so go talk to him. Once you talk to him you will start a side quest were you will have to go too the cave north of Ur (1st town) and rescue 3 kids from bombs, you will fight 3 bombs level 16 if you have a item that uses an ics move or blizzard it will be easy at a low level or you will have to train a little first but not to much if you using the 2nd method. After you beat the bombs you will receive a part of a crystal giving you the job Onion knight.


How to get Onion Equipment

Like all jobs onion knight has a class only weapon onion blade. Onion blade is acquired by getting you job level to 99 and talking to the legendary blacksmith another mail sidequest and you will receive it or have someone send you the card then talk to the blacksmith. You will need to view elsewhere for details on this sidequest.

The onion knight also has onion sword and all types of armour. These can be quite difficult to acquire as you get them off the 3 dragons located in the ??? cave or crystal tower. They are very strong enemies.

Each dragon is a different colour red, yellow and green. Yellow is easiest but still strong with 79999 hp it'll be quite a battle. After yellow its green with 89999 hp then red with 99999hp.

They all drop onion swords (not blade) and shields but only one of each will drop the helmet, armour or gauntlets.


The yellow drops the helmet, the green drops the gauntlets and red drops the armour. Unfortunately the drop rate is also very low for the Helm/gaunlets/armour aswell it's around 3.5% so even when you manage to kill one you may not get what your going for but atleast the have to drop the sword or shield.

As you can probably tell you get the onion equipment quite late in the game but don't worry as the only things the can't equip are job exclusive weapons (level 99 job rewarded weapons) so you can still easily train early on in the game. Also the ??? cave is accessed through yet another mail sending side quest. Edit: I just been playing and discovered that the onion sword is more powerful than the onion blade. I also forgot to mention that both onion sword and blade gives +5 to all stats

i have a dude, the card the giant metal give when u kill him what is for because i talk to the legendary smith and she didnt noticed it so i dont know waht is for that metal card, do u know?

I can't remember right now but when i get to that point again i find out (been almost a year) I think you can send it in messages to show you've beat iron giant and thats all.

I made a big mistake in the original which makes the 2nd method incorrect. The onion knights stats do no raise up to 99 if your job level is raised to 99 its your actual charater level so you should train with the monk/black belt for vitality then switch to onion knight once you are 93+ on your actual character level. I just finished trying the 2nd method only to have 11 on each stat.

Also, if your trying to max you hp, use Black Belts.
There have the highest vitality boost which makes them good for HP leveling.
