By killing him, we are doing him a favor. Why give him life in jail, where he'll not only suffer, but die slowly, when we can simply protect him from said suffering by ending his life now. The banker said in best in the short story "The Bet" (look it up)

Mercy is no longer an option, he has caused too much trouble to have that privilege. He probably wouldn't need a death sentence if he hadn't plotted to kill his parents over something so petty. No amount of counseling can fix what he's done anyway, he'll still be as messed up as he was when he shot his mother.

We're born violent.

People kill people over stupid things all the time, one of my best friends was shot over $30.
There is no way to prevent things like this from happening. It's always happening.

1. Why'd you kill your mom?
2. If we merely lock his kind up, the (USA) prisons will be overloaded. And (as far as I know) it c costs as much to care for an inmate as it does to send someone to college. If we kill his kind, not only to save people but we have money left over for education.
