Lies; "idiot" is the noun and "stupid" is just describing the intelligence of the idiot. There do exists smart idiots.

I thought about posting this story awhile back, but there are car accidents all the time. Now if the driver made the comment of "the devil made me do it", then the story would be a lot more interesting.
