I'm just going to throw this out there at the people who said life is important. This question asks what is important in life, so life is clearly not in life so that answer is invalid. We are assuming that we have life in this question. That is all I wanted to say regarding this issue.

To me, I find true friends to be really important because the real, true friends are the ones that keep you going and keep you motivated to keep trudging through life. As you grow up, you lose intrinsic motivation to do things because society and the people around you offer you other things to motivate you so that you are now mainly extrinsically motivate. This, in turn, requires you to have some external motivation to keep you going, and that is where the true friends come in useful.

As to answer the question, the most important thing in life to me is happiness, which comes from love and other various other things.

Something that grounds you, that gives you a reason to exist. Everyone has something that drives them. I think that is the most important thing. Without it you lose the will to live
