How Do You Pronounce years 2011, 2012, etc.?

So tell me forum, there seems to be a huge difference in the way people pronounce these years: others say "two thousand (and) twelve", while others, like me, say "twenty twelve". Which way do you say these years and do you have a reason for saying them that way?

Personally, I think it sounds much better when you say "twenty twelve" and it's more faithful to the way we've been saying the past years too: no one called 1985 "one thousand nine hundred and eighty five". Are the people gonna talk about "two thousand seventy two" and so on in the future?

Two thousand twelve. Though, past years - 1982, 1492, 1776 - I say nineteen eight-two, fourteen ninety-two and seventeen seventy-six.
