    What's your stance on secrets?

How do you feel about secrets? Are you encouraged to keep them, perhaps, by family members and friends. Are you an open book?

I consider myself an open book-- just for the simple fact; when you have secrets. People can always hold something over your head. But, if you're open with everything-- that would never be an option for those that wish to spite you. That's why; I'm completely transparent about everything I do-- good and bad.

On another note, I know, secrets in the context of relationship changes the whole battlefield. But, it still boils down to the fact-- that the individual doesn't want to harm the relationship with their partner. If, you think about it-- that's really the reason secrets always spawn; to further keep an established relationship on good terms; even if, it means lying to that person in question. For example, if the government told it's people everything, including all negative things that transpired behind closed doors. Do you think, we the people, would still have the same image of them? Perhaps, the government doesn't want to seem corrupt nor weak to the "world." Reputation is everything with human-beings and that's why, secrets will always exist. But, that's just me-- what do you think about secrets?

Just a Journalist, and a geek. Nothing more, nothing less.

XUNI X= Unknown NU= A word that expresses surprise I= The roman numeral for one. The name Xuni expresses me. Because I am an unknown that will surprise and be number one. The guy that keeps to himself and has a steady head on his shoulders, knows what direction he's headed in.

    Secrets, hmm.
I don't usually keep stuff from people.
And I hate it, when people don't tell me stuff. <.<

Re: What's your stance on secrets?

Some folks don't want to nor should they be sharing their problems with other people. Do I want to share my secrets? No, I have too much of a dark history to be sharing on a family forum. It SORTA reflects in some attitude I share but not much, if you MUST know and are DYING to know (which I doubt any would be), just ask via PRIVATE message because I don't want anyone to just jump in there and be all like: "BWAAAAA?!"

Everyone is entitled to their own privacy, would you ladies share VERY personal information with men? Maybe after you two are a couple and are going steady, sure, but before then? Noooooo, that'd be a bad idea.

All in all, if it means life or death (murder/accident/suicide/etc), you probably shouldn't keep secrets but don't be blabbing around. It's not something the general public should be concerned about whether if they would care or not. Drama isn't welcome in many places as well but some folks just don't know how to hide their secrets or problems. Sometimes it can ruin the moment as well. Take the following as example:
You're having a rotten day and for whatever reason it just keeps going further downhill. You finally have the rest of the day off with your friends who have decided to go to Six Flags together (heck yeah). They come pick you up in a big carpool, they're all happy and excited but you're still feeling the effects of the rotten day. You try to perk up and hide your issues but you can't. Let's say family problems, perhaps your pet whatever is sick or worse, bad grades all over the place, close calls here and there, people blaming you for things that aren't your fault, etc. I know some folks can deal with each of the above as they face them but a lot of people can't. Let's say you can't and you're still pretty down in the dumps. The atmosphere around you, the energy you emit can be detected by those around you unless they're oblivious. Those who really know you and are close to you will notice even before you get close enough for them to feel your atmosphere. If you continue to be down in the dumps in the car of excited people there's two results, either the excitement will die down and the car will be pretty off in terms of energy or perhaps they will stop having fun and try to cheer you up. Either way, if you can't be cheered up, it can affect the rest of the day.
This doesn't mean you shouldn't turn to friends for help or just to be cheered up and sometimes it's something you just can't control. Secrets are not just about keeping your privacy for yourself but also to keep the morale going.

If its a secret that really should be kept, I will. Other than that, I too don't like keeping things hidden from ppl.

Secrets definitely do make friends. Secrets have ruined relationships and have done bad. They have also done good too though.
