Video Games Perfect Cure For Depression?

Anytime I'm feeling down about things I just curl up with a good game and all my problems just fade away.
Some say it's an addiction, I say it's a cure. Wouldn't you agree?

I agree. Whenever I'm depressed I seem to become more happier and even forget the problem after playing the game. When I play a game it feels as all my troubles disappear and It's just me and the virtual world. Love it. Like music is a cure for some, games is a cure for others.

I'd have to completely disagree with you here. It's true that gaming can be an escape and cheer you up but it's all about moderation. If you use gaming as a means to escape life then you're just cutting yourself off from the world even more, which will likely result in you being more socially awkward and causing more issues later on down the line.

So I believe gaming in healthy moderation can be of help, but that doesn't mean it's the perfect cure. If you game too much I think it's more likely that you will develop some form of depression. So game, socialise, get out of the house. Don't use gaming as a means to escape your life entirely because then when you actually do have to face the real world it's going to seem a whole lot worse and you'll be left wishing your life was more like a game or a film.

I guess the word "Depression" was a bit too strong. Maybe "Sadness".
Just as long as you know how to maintain your social life and gaming, then everything'll be fine. Yeah, moderation is key

    Cure. Definately.
Usually when I'm feeling down I play a game where I get to hit a bunch of stuff. Like God of War or something. Usually I feel a lot better afterwards :)
