Problem with firefox

Recently my firefox has been acting up on me. I cant go on many sites with it anymore. If i go on certain sites with it, it just freezes. (Including friendcodes) Then if i close it and try to reopen it says its either still running so i have to close its process or it will give me the option to start a new session or carry on from my previous one. If you try to carry on it will just freeze straight away =/.

Ive tried 2 system restores on my pc and ive also uninstalled firefox then downloaded a new version and installed that but it still doesnt work.

Any ideas on whats happening here? Is it just firefox acting weird or is there something wrong with my pc =[. Any help or information is appreciated =]

Something like that happened to me.
What I did was put it into Safe Mode, and from then on it worked perfectly (while not in Safe Mode)

Where can i find that setting?

Do a Control+Alt+Delete, click Process, find Firefox.exe, select it, and hit "End Process." The problem is, sometimes Firefox will close, but won't actually close the program, so when you try to open it, it tells you it's already running, 'cos hey, it is. However, once you manually close it then reopen, it'll be fine.

That's how I do it whenever that happens, however, recent software updates seem to have made that problem occur much less often.

To run your computer in safe mode (which you shouldn't need to do) you turn on your computer, let it start up, etc. all while holding F8 (I believe).

Yes i know how to do that part but it will just keep happening. I cant get on friendcodes and alot of other sites. it will either kick me off giving me a error message or just freeze up

You could always just use Internet Explorer or Safari? I know it's a total wimpy way out, 'cos Firefox kicks •••, but it's still an option.

Yes im on IE atm. I just really liked firefox. Its not like it is vital or anything its just the little things like its speed and being able to see a transparent image xD.
