What do you mean? Obviously if the Americans could not control strategic points on certain islands (ie. airfields), they would not have been able to stop the Japanese war machine. Surely they couldn't have sent bombers to the Japanese main islands from Pearl Harbor.

-well i got an assignment about stress and i have to interview 3 people(with jobs).. just answer the questions. this is really easy
ill give karma if you answer it, it is due tomorrow btw
1)NAME

2) Name two things that cause you stress on the job. Explain how each stressor affects your behavior.

3)Name two things that cause you stress in your personal live. Explain how each stressor affects your behavior.

4)Name one technique for modifying your behavior to deal with stress in your life.

Not sure if these could help but:

1) im guessing its your name lol

  1. Deadlines- big time stress inducers because your work has to be finished at that time and your proformance can make your boss judge you.
  2. Time management- If you cant manage your time properly in work, you might never be able to finish a project well because it might have been rushed. You could also be fired for that and the thought will be looming in your head all day unfortunately ,'=$

3)
  1. Financial issues- just take a look at todays economy. Your parents or relatives could be struggling to make payments. Not having money can alter your mood because it put pressure on you because you would try to sacavage any little bit of money you have. And can make people belittle themselves at times. And being broke when your hungry blows >.<
  2. Sleep- Ahhh im sure you had this feeling before. You wake up in the morning when you don't want to and your, literary, ••••ed at everything. Well sleep is very important, not just because it recharges your energy but also because it can alter your mood. People who have had enough sleep AND had enjoyed it (you can sleep for 20 hrs on a rock and youll still feel like crap) then to be more alert to their surroundings, more calm, more relaxed, and in a much better mood then a person who, oohhhh lets say, got barely 2hrs of sleep and woke up on a hard bed next to a VERY unattractive person (heh butter face lol). Also if I remembered right losing sleep causes a hormonal unbalance and it can really scew up your sleep cycle.

4) One technique that is really important in dealing with stress is time management. if you learn to prioritize you schedule youll never have to worry about unfinish work and youll be able to get more done during the day. Another thing would be to find a comfortable sleep schedule and to stick with it. People are different from each other, some dont need the 8hrs of sleep. Others need more. So its good to find out how many hours of sleep you need to feel relaxed and awake so your not falling asleep in the hallways (lol even if thats fun)

you forgot to mention poor diet, too much caffeine and lack of exercise. too me all of the things forementioned and above could be summerized into having a basic routine to follow throughout the week

I have a question on my Maths homework that I am not sure about. I've tried working it out but I just can't get an answer.
Question: Eight soccer teams play each other once during a tournament. Two points are awarded for a win, one for each draw and zero for each loss. How many points must a team score to be sure that it will finish in the top four? [The team must finish with more points than at least four other teams]
If someone could help me with this question, it would be much appreciated. If you show the answer, please explain how you worked it out.

Well, if a team won all their games which would be the best possible outcome they would have 14 points. (7 x 2 = 14)

The second best outcome would be that they drew in one and won the other six. (6 x 2 + 1 = 13)

Next best possible outcome would be that they lost one and won six. (6 x 2 = 12)

Fourth best possible is that they won five, drew in one and lost the seventh. (5 x 2 + 1 = 11)
