Re: Mac Vs. PC - 06-20-08

PCs are just better for what I do most (gaming). My friends dad has a £2000 because he's a pro. Photographer and uses it to Photoshop crap, but it can't play games at all whereas my PC easily does Photoshop as well as games.

1) Freezes. Its un-common to have several freezes a day.
2) Safety. It may use firewall but that doesn't quite kick it.
3) Memory. Mac has over 3-14 TB which is far superior to PC.
4) Ctl+Alt+Del. It helped sometimes but if you pressed it to long blue screen=hell.
5) Cost. PC's cost less then mac if you buy a horrible processor and bad memory.
Mac gives over 1G of RAM, 120 GB of Memory. LCD Screen. Wireless Mouse.
Wireless Keyboard and a lot more of Xtras for about 2,400.
(Mine was about that much back in 2004) For Pc to have all of that its around 3,600.
The reason i switched to MAC was because of my PC it had many freezes and hours of rebooting and firewall check. I was on a website when i got a Trojan Horse, that was the end of that. My PC was pretty much gone so we tried Mac. Its a wayyyyyy better service. You get 2 years warranty with a Year of Classes. And if any thing breaks you get a new one. The only problems i face with Mac are These:
1) Not all Games are Compatible. Many games are for PC but with Spore coming out i really don't have much to worry about.
2) Sometimes have to do force quit every now and then but not 24/7.
But there are tons of good things. Memory, Ram, security, speed, easy-to-use, and over all fun.

So to Me I think hand in hand Mac is better then PC. With PC making up cheap knock-offs of Ipod (zune), Widgets (gadgets), etc. I don't really think i'm going to switch back. And if any of you say that Mac sucks or something in that area please tell me have you EVEN TRIED a Mac?

Mac FTW!
Your PC just sucked :P Unlike Macs, you need to choose the specs for your PC before you buy it which brings on to the best thing about PCs; customization.

I've used PCs since I was 4 and never came across any problems. It's your fault if you download crapware and don't know how to take care of a PC. Which brings me to another point; Macs are for computer-illiterates because they're simple and straight forward; not a good thing for hardcores, but I guess it's all right for casuals... Kinda like the Wii in a way.

I've used PC's from 3-9. We had XP it was horrible. Macs don't need customization because everything is top of the line. And it can be for Hardcores in gaming mostly. WoW, I was playing Ituns, Im'ing friends, was on youtube while in the middle of Qua'Qjarl (if thats how you spell it) so its not "casual" but in can be if you don't have the brain capacity to use it.

And what happens when a new model is released? Not to mention how much it costs to buy one compared to a PC.

Did you notice my pricing on the first post of the thread? Yeah Pc's cost more to just be CLOSE to Mac.
When a new system comes out which it does every so often. Just re-new your 1 year warranty and go and get a auto-tune they'll just change and put the better stuff. And Yes, not a whole bunch of games but for the games they don't have they make up for it. Spore,WoW, AoM, Empires(1,2,3), and other games. Even RUNESCAPE works, even if i don't like runescape i'm just using that for an example.

Re: Mac Vs. PC - 06-20-08

I see your pricing, now let me make another one.

Using your Mac

# 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

# 2GB 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB

# 320GB Serial ATA Drive

At... 1,499

Against my PC

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor E6420 (4MB L2 cache,2.13GHZ,1066FSB)

3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 4 DIMMs

320GB1 Serial ATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache

At... 1,109

As you can see, while my PC has less processing power, if only slightly, it has more RAM. Also upon further inspection while my PC's monitor is an inch smaller I don't think that matters all to much.

Your up next.
