Mac Vs. PC -
06-20-08
Well the decades long battle is still going on, Mac or PC? In my 9 years of experience with PC I have had many problems;
1) Freezes. Its un-common to have several freezes a day.
2) Safety. It may use firewall but that doesn't quite kick it.
3) Memory. Mac has over 3-14 TB which is far superior to PC.
4) Ctl+Alt+Del. It helped sometimes but if you pressed it to long blue screen=hell.
5) Cost. PC's cost less then mac if you buy a horrible processor and bad memory.
Mac gives over 1G of RAM, 120 GB of Memory. LCD Screen. Wireless Mouse.
Wireless Keyboard and a lot more of Xtras for about 2,400.
(Mine was about that much back in 2004) For Pc to have all of that its around 3,600.
The reason i switched to MAC was because of my PC it had many freezes and hours of rebooting and firewall check. I was on a website when i got a Trojan Horse, that was the end of that. My PC was pretty much gone so we tried Mac. Its a wayyyyyy better service. You get 2 years warranty with a Year of Classes. And if any thing breaks you get a new one. The only problems i face with Mac are These:
1) Not all Games are Compatible. Many games are for PC but with Spore coming out i really don't have much to worry about.
2) Sometimes have to do force quit every now and then but not 24/7.
But there are tons of good things. Memory, Ram, security, speed, easy-to-use, and over all fun.
So to Me I think hand in hand Mac is better then PC. With PC making up cheap knock-offs of Ipod (zune), Widgets (gadgets), etc. I don't really think i'm going to switch back. And if any of you say that Mac sucks or something in that area please tell me have you EVEN TRIED a Mac?
Here is Pricing for The same kind of computer MAC vs. PC:

I never have that happen. Pretty much if you aren't an idiot and know what you are doing, you shouldn't have problems
2) Safety. It may use firewall but that doesn't quite kick it.
Meh, if you are using the packaged protection you deserve a virus. And even then like I said before if you know what you are doing and you aren't an idiot, you should be fine.
3) Memory. Mac has over 3-14 TB which is far superior to PC.
3 to 14 TERABYTES of memory over PC? This must be a typo. Even then you can upgrade with a PC, a feature Macs lack, IIRC.
4) Ctl+Alt+Del. It helped sometimes but if you pressed it to long blue screen=hell.
I do not know what you are implying please elaborate.
*Ahem.*
BULL!
A Dell XPS 420
With 3gb of RAM
640 GB of HD space
20in Flat panel with webcam and mic
And more for the price of 1,399.
The reason i switched to MAC was because of my PC it had many freezes and hours of rebooting and firewall check. I was on a website when i got a Trojan Horse, that was the end of that.
What were you running 95? You should'nt have those problems.
My PC was pretty much gone so we tried Mac. Its a wayyyyyy better service. You get 2 years warranty with a Year of Classes. And if any thing breaks you get a new one.
You will get something like this too, through places like Dell and such.
The only problems i face with Mac are These:
1) Not all Games are Compatible. Many games are for PC but with Spore coming out i really don't have much to worry about.
2) Sometimes have to do force quit every now and then but not 24/7.
I have never had to restart Windows against my will, ever.
But there are tons of good things. Memory, Ram, security,
On the security bit This is because no one cares enough to make viruses and such for macs. lol.
speed,
Depends on the rig.
easy-to-use,
Depends on the user.
and over all fun.
Depends on the user's taste.
So to Me I think hand in hand Mac is better then PC. With PC Windows. making up cheap knock-offs of Ipod (zune), Independent developers IIRC Widgets (gadgets), etc. I don't really think i'm going to switch back. And if any of you say that Mac sucks or something in that area please tell me have you EVEN TRIED a Mac? Nope and it's too expensive to start now.
Mac FTW!

wow you guys must have pretty bad computers ive never had windows freeze on me lmao (never froze on xp, never freezes on vista). plus if you really care about memory just go pick up a 1 tb external drive at like best buy or something (i doubt you would ever need more than 1 tb unless you were planning on taking pictures of every person and thing in the world or downloading every song created).

Re: Mac Vs. PC -

Well, I live in a very interesting family. My dad runs windows, my brother runs Linux, and I use Mac OS X. But for SOME reason, everyone is turning to MY computer when they need help!
I wonder why... is it simply because mine is located in the kitchen, or is it just that my OS doesn't suck...
Really, after several years of Mac addiction, I tried Windows again (needed it to download PSP games), and HATED it. After ALL THIS TIME, NO SMART FOLDERS!
Now, I'll admit that I haven't spent TOO MUCH time with Linux, but I DO know that you CANNOT hook up an Ipod to it without driver/firmware updates, so it's reliability immediately falls out the window.
Why do I like Macs? Well, think of it this way. On Windows, when you wanna close a program, it doesn't let you. On Mac OS X, it closes it FOR YOU! Sure, this is not always at a time you want it to shut down, but hey, it's better than the alternative! :D
Then there's Ilife. For years, I've been addicted to Itunes, along with slight obsessions with other programs, and the integration between the software is the closest thing I've seen to Web 3.0 in a long time.
Finally, there's the fact that I don't have to download any software. I'm never tempted with any stupid shareware games for me to download and eat up my HDD, because I CAN'T PLAY THEM on my Mac! :)
In conclusion, Macs rule. Why? Because Steve Jobs made it.

It rarely freezes on XP, it frequently freezes for me on Vista. It might have to do with making hubs on FC with vista, it can't handle that and has to restart for some reason. I prefer PC over Mac, and XP over Vista

i dont like macs; back at my old elementary school all the computers were macs and they froze most of the time

Never base your idea of mac's on whats at your school. All school mac's are way out of date and full of bullcrap thats slows them down. Once you use a real map it is awesome.

Dont change what i wrote just put the quote and then write wat have to say. Neway Dell and other Microsoft computer providers make you pay more money to just have what macs have. And macs come with 1-2 years of free lessons, hardware fix, and whole computer updates. And in Apple Stores all the ppl are nice and they help you in real life. Not a automated machine saying "Press 1 for Hardware, 2 for Virus Alert, 3 for Customer Service, or hold for the next available operator" Now with MAC, yes they have automated machines when you call but 9/10 of the time its a real life person you talk to and you can make appointments ANY day to get a lesson on movies, music, or even just to make a html. So please don't BS me with "Well Dell costs cheaper" In reality no they don't.
