Okay, I can't state this bluntly enough. Guys, you have the option to TURN OFF karma if you feel like it. It may seem silly, but by the looks of it, some of you guys REALLY need it.
Now, we've all felt this way before. We jotted something naughty with our keyboards, pressed that precious "Enter" button, and somehow offended someone to the point that our little bars that describe our online conduct next to our names turn just a bit more crimson. At a painful moment like this, how should we take care of it?
I dunno, but one thing's for sure: Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew that we shouldn't follow the ever-so-common "eye-for-an-eye" philosophy. While some people here may not be a fan of this guy's teachings, there's no denying that the crime of giving someone else negative karma just because they pointed out one of your undesirable idiosyncrasies isn't the right thing to do. To tell the truth, it's really nothing short of immature.
Please keep in mind that the "blue stuff" that so many of us lust after is a reward for proper behavior, and by no means a right. If you don't have the maturity to put up with a sincere suggestion, you can just turn off your karma and have the magical black bar.
___________
Cliff Notes version: Negative karma is for SUGGESTIONS to the user. And NO. You should NOT suggest someone not to give you bad karma. That's just dumb.
