heh that's ignorant Fc staff for you tho... terrified that smart people will gather and show those draconian fools up, so they ban an innocent guy just because he tells the truth and they're afraid of his message. It's been that way here for too long. They banned him when he found out how they were censoring (intelligent) posts by making them only visible to the poster. When he spoke out against this draconian censorship he was banned forever to prevent him from informing people of this.

Haha, this again. The staff works hard to keep the site going so if they see something they don't like they're entitled to get rid of it. If you don't like it, that's your problem, not that of the staff. This isn't a nation, it's a website. If you don't like it, find a new one. If the staff were trying to cover something up, they would have deleted this and the other post, but they're just getting locked because this discussion is pointless.

It's about people getting treated like dirt, snake. Anyone who stands up to the staff is blacklisted, patronized, and censored.
This most likely has not been closed as it is obvious it will be ctrl-v'd back into existence.

Not all staff are like this, however an increasing amount of them are. Fcs isn't the staff as you say, snake, it's the people. And we're sick and tired of them spitting on anyone who they personally don't like. The people should have the right to criticize things they see as wrong. Freedom of speech is the difference between Saudi Arabia and England. Censorship and fundamentalism destroy every society, and every community. It is not that we hate fcs or the community that we do this. We do this because we like the people (well most of them) and we don't like seeing them get treated like second class trash. We do this because if this shift towards totalitarianism continues, the site will die and a lot of people will lose contact.

And you should note members like pasta piggy that openly hate the fc community, yet are in the inner circle of the ones meant to keep it going.

A leader is but a servant to the masses. And if FCs wants to stay open, it had better learn that.

But yet again you make a reference to nations and empires. This is a bloody website. On the internet, freedom of speech isn't a right, it's a privilege. Think of it this way as well. Why do the police arrest protesters? Whether they're right or wrong, they're in the bloody way and disrupting the peace.

What's wrong with a staff member disliking someone? The staff are just as human as you and I. FC isn't going to close because a few people dislike the way it's run, the world doesn't work like that.

Just a note to say that BanBobBenBan says over MSN that he's watching this and is proud of everybody. I know him in real life, so I have a great image in my head of him smiling with BENevolence (pun!) down from the skies on you.

He told me that apparently this account was used as one reason for him to be banned, that I was a dupe to harass people or somesuch. Nope, I'm a real, separate person, living in my own right. I guess that's what this is all about, living in one's own right.

I'd imagine that many seeing these series of posts would airly wave their hands, and think to themselves "ugh, petty forum drama", or "Does it mention Yoshi? Then I don't care." However, I think such meta-discussion is genuinely useful;- as in any community, there are some people whom are heavily invested in their lives here, and thus it is important that they feel they can speak freely. I tend not to spend a lot of time here because many of the people I have encountered just have teams of ubers and little old me gets squashed; however, under the shell of hardcore, there really is a whole little nation of happy gamers here.

I think this alone is a fantastic counter to the oft-repeated mantra that a private forum can be moderated any way the owners see fit. After all, all the content, as one might call it, is generated by the very people who are affected by this; it just has to be an open democracy.

If you have a problem with the site and being "controlled" and whatever, nobody's forcing you to be here. Nobody's even forcing you to post. You really don't have to put up with the staff, if you hate them to this extent, which is pretty hilarious/insane. It's really not that serious, dude. A guy was banned, so what. There are hundreds of other forums he can go to, this is the internet. It's like, not being to eat 1 specific fruit in a whole garden. Big deal, eat another, pansy. xD

hobowill you do bring up an interesting point. If this was a public place I'd be behind you complaining and screaming "power to the masses" right there along benbob. But, like you say, this is a private forum. Private. You saying that a private forum shouldn't be ran the way the owners see fit is like a household not being run the way that the person that owns it prefers. Would that not completely take away the point of owning such a house?

Could you imagine how screwed up it would be if people had to elect their landlords? If people don't like the way the landlord runs things, they don't try to get all the other tenants to stand up and change the way things are run, they just move somewhere else. Same with this situation. If you're having problems with the way things are happening, I'm sure IGN and Gamespot wouldn't mind a few more members.
