This is just something I want to take a quick moment to talk to you all about. Advice threads have recently been popping up quite alot recently in this forum, and the Games and Nonsense forums. While they don't really break the rules here at FC.com, I'd just like to take a moment to state why they are generally a bad idea.

First of all, the majority users here at FC.com are quite young, and while there alot of people that are mature for their age, there are just as many people that are immature. If you come to this forum ready to pour your heart into a thread about how you lost your girlfriend and your life is going down the tubes, more then likely people will just laugh, scoff, flame and spam your thread with sarcastic comments, so on and so forth.

While I wish it wasn't like that, some of the users here can't seem to find maturity and feel the need to mock the thread starter, which usually just leads to them getting even more upset.

Secondly, bringing your problems to people who may not have had any experience in helping with problems before may lead to you recieving, and acting upon, some bad advice which makes situations even worse.

I know that you may feel that this is the last place you can go, but believe me, there are many other (and better) places you can go, other then a gaming forum:

• Livewire Teen Forums: This is a forum where teens can come and ask questions, and get advice from experienced and professional people. They also have an emergency area, where people are on 24/7 ready to answer any questions you need answered immediatly.
• Teensay.co.uk: Many articles where you can read about things people have to say, usually written by people who have been through the same problem as you.
• Teenadvice: A website that deals with alot of general advice teenagers may have about life.

I suggest you check out these places, and their forums, if you need to ask a question. You are more then likely to recieve a much better answer there then you are here.

Please don't think I'm saying that FC is full of people who don't care. There are alot of people here who would be willing to try and help with your problems, but there are people who ruin it for the majority unfortunately. (One of the reasons we don't have a Serious Discussion area)

Honestly, be blunt about it and force them to stop. I am also guessing either someone really close to you or yourself is who you are referring to, yes you have to force it still. Sounds harsh but it works.

Well, they stopped but their story didn't end too well.
Thank you though.
Also, being harsh to someone in that kind of mental state isn't always that easy.

It is mainly you holding yourself back, our brains work to avoid conflict so it is natural for it to be hard. Well now you know what to do the next time it happens.
