Not always Ling. My school (which is private) has a 6 day cycle as a scheldule and I'm in highschool. I'm Canadian but both countries are alike with their education system so it's not that much of a difference.

for me, All periods are 40 minutes

It was 6 periods (one hour per period) a day last year but my school changed it's system and it's now 4 periods (90 minutes per period) a day.
